Darren Drysdale

Thought he had a decent game today. Tried to let it flow wherever he could , fair for both sides, allowed a bit of physical contact which makes a change. One of the better refs we've had this season

Thought he was ok yes. Not much edge to game though. He didn’t have so many tough decisions to make.

He let plenty of niggly tough go which is good. They couldn’t lay a glove on us which meant it wasn’t a hard game to referee.

Very good refereeing today and I didn't even notice the linesmen.

I served in the RAF with him. A top bloke. Mind you I had a few run ins playing in the goal for the RAF

I thought that he missed Street getting pushed in the back just about every time before playing the ball.

Ditto - I used to play with DD at Marham - was a canny lad and decent footballer..

Best ref this season so far! That’s not saying much.

My mate noticed that the ref had put out his own cones out so the officials could do mini sprints as well as doing a couple of laps around the pitch.

Easiest game in the world to ref.
They were awful, easy days work for donny and the officials.

I wasn’t aware it was him until my brother reminded me of the ‘back story’ before kick off.

I thought he had a very good game today.

We were saying this too. Think it was also a testament to Newport as well. Might sound patronising but they didn't try and of the dark arts other teams do when they come to us. No 60 second goal kicks, no 'injuries' for a team talk every 5 minutes, no cynical fouls when we were all over them.

They're without a lot of key players, especially no strikers for an out ball, so could have easily tried to make it one of those awful games but in fairness they just tried to play when they could

Agree with that. They played clean and fair. Lot of other teams could do well to follow their example.

Think their manager would say they were too passive and didn’t show any heart at all. Good for us admittedly!

He’s the best ref at this level by a mile.
