And there was me thinking Port Vale finished second..

If you think teams always finish in positions that correlate to their performances over a 46 game sample, think again! Too much luck and variance involved in football for that to happen.

That ‘luck & variance’ pocketed me over £1100 this season.

If you know your football luck doesn’t come into it.

Out of interest then, how many times did your bets not come in and how much did you lose when they didn’t.

Without itemising every bet I made over the course of the last 12 months hound, would this suffice?

Football & horses but I would say 95% football.

Thanks Usher, that is quite impressive, well done.
Maybe you should enter the big competition (PvO) next season and go for the prestigious trophy.

Guy I used to work with has spent his life gambling
A very well paid bloke. Wins big sometimes too. But he lived with his Mum into his mid 30's, sold his bloody valuable sharesave options before they matured and, to this day, has absolutely nowt behind him.

Gambling? It's a licence to print money for the bookies and their ilk. Why else do we see so many new gambling companies starting up and the airwaves and billboards being absolutely dominated by these sharks?

BobG
Couple of scary gambling stories, both true. A few years ago me and a mate were watching a Cup Final. As the teams emerged from the tunnel he started tearing up some betting slips. He had put money on which team would wear their home kits! Same again for who would win the kick off, (lost), and first throw in (lost), and first corner, (lost) and on it went. I had no idea of his addiction. He is now divorced and homeless.
Years ago in London I knew a guy who ran a gambling club. He had already gambled away the family home and one night lost his Bentley in a poker game. Just after that, in desperation, he lost the club - on the turn of a card. Sad but true.
Shows how it can grip you.
On a lighter note I can't wait for the fixtures to come out. So many big games. Bring it on! :rtid:

What's the PvO? Seen it mentioned a few times.

Is there a thread I should look for?

Obi is a score prediction thread. Players predict the outcome of Rovers league games. Either win, draw or lose.
