Remember Benjamin Mendy he was acquited of everything he was accused of while playing for man city who stopped his paying his wages and he took them to court over it so being accused and guilty are very different.

It would surely depend on the individual’s Contract of Employment. Football clubs must be very conscious of their image and the conduct of their players figures largely in projecting it.

The police while doing an investigation have no obligation to tell your employer,I worked with someone around 10 years ago who went to prison for 4 years because of indecent pictures on his computer around 1500 in total and he worked in a restaurant where families came into and it was not until he was sent down that the police made contact, because they said he was innocent until found guilty and it took them around 2 years from start to finish the case against him
