Drayrtonion, Grehan is well behind Pearson and on last nights showing Flint

Grehan is a very very good center half. Saying he is behind Flint, after seeing him play against Bradford reserves, is a bold call.

Sorry, Gaz, but that wasn't Bradford reserves. Apart from the absence of Pointon and a couple of others that was a strongish team.

Cook, Halliday, Lapslie, Wright, Swan, Humphries, and Leigh all figured at some time.

They desperately wanted to beat us last night, for obvious reasons.

They are not first choice though are they Steve. Some don’t even make the squad. In the same way Ajayi, Jay, Lawlor, Hanlon, Gotts et so are our reserves. It was their second string.

I don't think there's such a thing as a second string. It's a squad game these days, and is dependant on many factors, such as injuries, fitness, and form.

All of the players I mentioned have played against us in league games over the last 12 months.

They played last night because they are not first choice. Is our second string as good as our best starting XI (subjective for one or two spots I know)? It’s just not is it.

Lincoln have lost 1 (one) league game at home this season, and that was 1-0 to a 90th minute winner from Exeter City.

In our last 5 away league games, we have scored 2 goals.

Despite our very good recent record at Sincil Bank, this will be very tough.

I don’t think our “very good recent record” is all that recent is it? We’ve not played them in over 3 years and only played at Sincil Bank 3 times in the last 20 years. There must only be a couple of players who were involved in the last victory there so not sure it’ll have any sort of bearing on this weekend’s result.

Tough game and I’d take a point right now.

Lincoln have done a good job since coming out of non league. This is now their 6th consecutive season in League One, never really been under threat of the drop. Gates very similar to us albeit in much smaller stadium. Wage bill of £7m which is around 100pc of revenue. Not a bad club really.

The level we have played at as a team Has improved as a couple of  players have regained fitness in the last few weeks, and we have stiffened the defence up  a bit.
But for a poor refereeing decision we would have got something from last weeks game v Barnsley,  and the introduction of substitutes in the game v Bradford showed who are and can be our better players as they walked all over what was not a shabby Bradford side.
We need to go for it, the lesson v Bradford was how decent we can be when forced to play on the front foot and we have the players to do it.
And with the weather and a decent surface as it always is that will be sodden, conditions will suit the team who attacks quickly with pace and turns the defence.

Lincoln targeted our weakness against high balls into the space four to ten yards from our goal today and we looked really vulnerable again.
We don’t seem to be able to deal with it.
