Clifton

Thought he deserved his own thread. Pretty anonymous in the first half and the game seemed to bypass him. Thought he was excellent in the second half with at least three crunching tackles which set the tone for a dogged second half performance for the whole team.
I thought Clifton would slowly fall out of favour as the starting 11 got stronger but, I reckon there’s a place for him. We play better when he’s in the team, our results are better so McCann has a job on his hands now - not a bad problem for a manager to have.
Keep it up for the rest of the season Harry - my sort of player

Myself and a few others have been extolling the virtues of Clifton for quite a while now.
Our results tend to be better when he plays.
He gets into scoring positions quite often and if he could finish better he would be right up there with Bailey.

Clifton is a work horse and a grafter . He reads the game and sets about his job of cleaning up and setting up passes for opportunities for others to take and gets his odd goal himself .
McCann has only in the last week tackled the Elephant in the room and that we didn’t have a striker or enough variation to select from . It’s becoming an annual event where the necessity to bolster the squad in January , because of recruitment decisions in July . This time he’s brought Four players in that may end up AGAIN defining how our season pans out . Players of ability and quality. Why is it we had drop into the bottom four , before he takes action on what was plainly obvious deficiencies ie goalkeeping , central defence and a decent striker playmaker . McCann need to start the season like he ends them WINNING!!
