You could see he wasn’t too happy with the fans.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought it was a bit of an awkward celebration. No one really ran to him after the final miss, and then his celebration was to pick up a ball and smash it into the stands then go get his towel and walk off?

I get that it’s not cool to over celebrate in this particular cup but surely he deserved the players to mob him rather than demurely commiserate with the Huddersfield team.

He appeared to need to be coaxed by Bailey to do some fist pumps at the end.

We also didn’t see the usual goal celebration from Billy after he put his penalty away in the first half.
If that had been in a league game he would have been much more demonstrative.
I agree that TLT didn’t make too much of a big deal about his efforts but wasn’t surprised when he didn’t get mobbed by the other players.
Goals, saves and wins don’t get the same response by players in this competition as they do in league games  do they.
Maybe a semi final win or a win at Wembley if we get there might be different.

Billy went and shushed their fans when he scored.

Yea, I saw that Gaz but it was nothing like his usual celebration’s was it.

Saw him boot the ball but he celebrated afterwards and so did the players. People trying to find an issue where there isnt one. The lad probably has pent up frustration of the shit our "fans" were giving him and also frustrated at not being first choice. Probably a relief as much as happiness essentially for him. Bear in mind he is only 22, 23 on Friday. Still young.

Below link to EFL facebook post if it works.....nice watch.

He's entirely typical of pretty much all the squad. Some obvious talent but wildly inconsistent. McCann obviously signed them all but it must be the devil's own job to try and get an XI on any given day that can all be playing well at same time. Rarely happens and then you have someone like Bailey who is consistent, stands out like a sore thumb.

I think it's fine for younger players to be inconsistent, I think people do forget the age of McGrath and TLT for example and they playing at this level for the first time have shown that inconsistency. But I'd expect both to be stronger next season.

I like TLT he's going to learn a lot from this season probably to show better elsewhere unfortunately.

Loan players should be the icing on the cake. Agree on McGrath, I think he’s not up to this level but at least there’s a potential upside to carrying on playing him. TLT has to be good here and now. All the loanees had to be and they weren’t which is why they were sent back, TLT would’ve been as well if we could have.

I reckon TLT will be here next season

In general with TLT, he has been going through a bit of a rocky patch, kind of lost his way with progressing, but that happens with even the greatest. He has the potential to make it far in the game, fingers crossed.

I did at first think he was at fault for their goal in a manner I've seen with him a few times. On watching the vid a few times, I noticed the ball bounce at that awkward distance in front of him, seeming to go skidding through on the wet, and/or even a small surface deflection, Can't recall how much he might have been unsighted? Still  saveable, but excusable too.

From what I can remember, many of the goals conceded that could be put on TLT were where he has parried a shot out into the path of an attacking player.

Has anybody noticed that this kind of save is practised and applauded when they are warming up before games? It looks as though it is being coached into all of the keepers, so it makes me wonder why?!

A big problem is that some on here were blaming for goals that were not actually his fault.
However comments on here have been tame compared to the vile abuse that he has been receiving on other social media, which clearly he will have seen.
He is a good young keeper, will make mistakes, but I am sure he will improve.
What will help is if we don’t leave players in acres of space and time, we must mark and challenge more.

Quite from the Rovrum highlights thread:

What a goal from Molls! Well taken from their keeper but the vision and skill of that turn, and sharpness of threading the ball into the net was class. One of his best.

I agree with the above, mistake by keeper but still needed some class from Mols.....Wonder if the lynch mob on here would be saying the same if it was TLT that had done it???

Dealt with things quietly through the game. Tried his best with the mind games on the pen but didnt work this time. Another clean sheet in open play.

Don’t know if anybody noticed but a few of our players on separate occasions in the first half gave TLT a rollicking for not communicating. Most notably was from Byrne after Jay hacked it out of play because Timmy never came for the ball. He was fuming with him.

Yes, it’s been a massive issue in the whole team. I’ve seen Ben Close do it to Bailey and Gotts. Byrne has done it to TLT and Jay.
It’s what the team misses, real vocal leadership.

McGrath shook his head at TLT on 2 occasions in first half. He was fuming with him. Sold him a couple of passes in crap situations.

Didn’t notice that. Probably more justified TLT giving Jay some after that first half. Horror show. Took him having a cup of tea at HT to recover from the penalty incident.

Jay held his hands up to the fans at the end in apology. Was good to see the acknowledgement. That first half really was the worst team performance I’ve seen under McCann when you take into consideration the quality of the opposition.
