Got be honest ive not really been impressed with him this season and feared the worst when i saw the line up. But thought he was excellent today alongside Pearson. Well done lad!

I noticed that after 70 mins I realised that I hadn't been aware of him, which suggests that he had gone about his business in a calm quiet manner, well done to the lad after being out for so long.

I think he’s a very promising player.

Ball to senior quickly taken for the goal was excellent. Had a good game overall too against some big lads up top for them

I think when McCann played him at full back earlier in the season, it was a thankless task for him  difficult to gain much confidence from it. He's not had much opportunity since to show what he's about. He's young and still inexperienced for League One so it's going to take time for him to mature into a first choice player but today will do him good.

He started off ropey today, you could tell he hadn’t played for a while. Noticeable too how it was when he was pulled wide right that he looked dodgy. Managed to stay more central for majority of the game and grew into it. Could be a good defender for us next season.

Was brilliant when their striker looked like he was going to get through on Timmy, Grehan got his body between man and ball to clear the danger

Thought he looked iffy in the first half (to be fair it was his first game in ages) but nailed it second half

I thought all the back four were very good today
Grehan looked good on the ball and Pearson was my solid with both full backs looking good getting forward and solid at the back.
Reading's strike force got very little service especially behind our defence and had very little ball to work with.

He started the season looking promising but then lost his confidence and looked like he’s playing 3 divisions above for a long time. Hopefully this helps him get his confidence back

He’s been a bit unlucky. He was played out of position at right back and right of a back 3 against good teams.

The times he’s played in a back 4 he’s generally looked good.

Back four were good but noticed an annoying trait with Sterry again today - rather than clearing the ball he seems to leave it, seems to be when a ball is played into the near post. Senior brilliant again btw

Should play every minute of the rest of the season, get some minutes into him and see if he can show he can play a bigger part next year.

Seems to have some genuine talent and possibly a bigger prospect than Jay. He's definitely way better on the ball and we are crying out for a better ball playing centre half.

It would have been interesting to see how he would have dealt with Marriott if he had played. Glad he didn’t mind. But Grehan is a promising player. A loan to league 2 next season will be massive for his development. Not sure he’s quite there to take us forward. Yet.

Every time we had a throw in near their Box Grehan looked at Grant to see if he got the Green Light to use his long throw , which he never did . Baffling really , if you got a tool like that then why not use it.

Given the realities of what Grant has said and done, we will likely be going into next season with Pearson, McGrath, Grehan and probably a loanee as our four centre backs.

Can’t see this. I think he will definitely sign a first choice permanent CB, along with 2 new full backs.

Grehan should play the remaining games. I think he’s likely to be a starter next season. I’m sure he’s got plenty of ability. Can do what Byrne does for sure. If we sign Byrne and that slows his development it will be a big mistake.

We'll probably sign Byrne.

Reading were poor getting meaningful ball forward to test us yesterday, mainly because our midfielders were excellent when not having the ball and stopped them playing, probably our best game of the season in that area,
He has had, and will have much more difficult games to judge him on but needs the game time to judge and earnt the chance yesterday.

He’s been fine since signing. Grehan showed yesterday that if the teams functioning Byrne isn’t the only person on the planet that can play there.

Sign a centre half with experience, that’s about 24/25yo. That would be a good balance between the four.

Never understand when people talk about getting experiance through the door they only think of 30yr + ageing players.

We need experiance but that experiance needs to be in their prime. Not on the decline.

Exactly this. Players really start knowing the game after about 100 games. After 200 games they are experienced.

Look at the best signings we have made in recent years and look at their ages. Bailey, Mols, Gotts to game a few.

I agree with both of you, however I still think the club will sign Byrne.
