What a huge blow. We just have no luck with injuries at all do we? We really miss Stock when he's not there, I don't think Wilson is anywhere near his quality (although I do like him) and this is very worrying. We must be able to try and find someone to come in on loan? What happened with Gillett anyway?

Although I rate Stock highly and yes this is a blow, I think we've learnt to cope without him. He was out for three months prior and then we went on our best winning run so far this season.

He is replaceable, I don't know who with (hopefully a loan player from somewhere!) but not in the same category as Sharp for me.

When he's returned from injury, barring an impressive second half at Cardiff I think he's been average in some games and not lasted anywhere near 90 minutes.

Very bad news. We all thought he'd resolved the back problem during his last spell out. Bet he's gutted. Good luck for a speedy  and complete recovery Brian.
Ah well, at least Steve Brooker will have someone to go on holiday with now.  :(

He can take Martis, Shackell, Webster, Woods and whoever else cares to be injured with him. We'll be left with Sulli and Sharp at this rate!

Got a very hard month ahead of us with a lot of games an we have not even got enough players to put on the subs bench now. Anymore injuries and soon were going to be lucky if we have any players on the bench at all!! Just can't see us having any more money, for anymore loan players. How many can you have on loan in a season?

Time to sell Stock in the summer, our best player, but only when he plays, which is near enough never.  We can't with a small squad afford to carry injured players who are probably our top earners.  It's harsh, but we can't keep Stock if he's never ever fit.

This latest setback will make him less appeasling to other clubs. The big move that was once predicted might never now happen, or alternatively only for a drastically reduced fee.

It's might be a shame for Stock if that's the case, but it's a massive boost to this club if he says with us.

He is an awesome player for us. He is our best player. He is our most influential player. He makes this team tick (yes it can tick over without him, but he's the long term player for this club) and he's still improving each season IMO.

Doncaster await Stock injury news

Doncaster Rovers will find out in the next 48 hours whether midfielder Brian Stock needs season-ending back surgery.

The 28-year-old spent four months out this season with an ankle injury and manager Sean O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Sheffield the player has two options.

\"I think he'll probably give the injection one last chance and see what the reaction is,\" he said.

\"If it's favourable, great. If not, the choice is non-existent and you bite the bullet and get it done.\"

He added: \"Fingers crossed because on Tuesday night he was out for the season and now there's a little glimmer that we could get him back.\"

Didn't he have this operated on at the back end of last season?

As someone said earlier on in the week you never really get over back injuries.

Time to start planning without him.

If true good relacement on the way,my understanding to be officially anounced tomorrow first thing.

Hope he scores a few like he did against earlier this season
