Utter wonk.If you have more money than sense then feel free to waste £10 a month. There is very little visible difference in picture quality, in fact more often than not people watch the regular channel thinking they are watching the HD version! Just a gimmick which Sky are pushing hard at the moment to try and stem the flow of customers they are losing on a monthly basis.I see a fair few televisions in a week and won't be parting with my hard earned in a rush.

The feeling in the industry is that folks have opted to spend more on staying in than going out through the recession, and adding more TV channels seems a logical choice. Coupled with a very attractive broadband deal it makes a compelling case.Cant comment on HD though as I only have the Sky+ box, but with a good quality TV (I have a Toshiba AV635 which is excellent) the \"normal\" picture is very good indeed.
There are varying degrees of HD quality programmes out there. For me its worth every penny, just take a look at some of the BBC nature programmes and then tell me you can't tell the difference.
