Steve Brooker...... again
« on May 11, 2010, 02:18:05 pm by CusworthRovers »
Sounding very positive and hopeful of a pre-season with us. This time, more than any other time, this time, (we're going to find a way), he can run without pain in his ankle. Not been able to do that after the other 2 operations.

It was suggested he will find it easier to start next season if fit, as we have lost Guy and Heffs. Stephen suggested if he had been fit last season, then he would have started anyway. Crikey charlie, we might not have had WLS.

I am looking forward to Brooker leading the line. I would mess my t'undies if we started the season with Brooker and Sharp up front.

To the regiment!!!!!!!

Should hope he will start, if Hayter & Fairhurst don't re-sign then he's the only striker we've got!!

Seriously, I have always rated the guy since he played superbly well for Bristol City against us at OBV and I also had the pleasure of watching him almost single handedly destroy Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in the same season. A fit Steve Brooker could be one hell of an asset in this division!! :woohoo:

If Owen Hargreaves can almost get a call up from Fabio after one minute's action in 19 months, i'm sure Steve can get back into the team by the start of next season. It'll be like a brand new signing to start the 2010/11 campaign. Good luck to the lad, fingers crossed his patience will be rewarded.

I have always admired him since I watched him play in the games against us in his Port Vale days.Like with Sharpy I Always thought I wish we could have him playing for us.We've had both this season but one crocked and the other only on loan  :(

His interview is up on DROS. It all sounds very promising, I'm chuffed for him if he can come back now and he'll be like a new signing surely. Fingers crossed that he can make it to the new season and stay fit, everyone seems sure now that he is over his ankle problems.

Was it the repeat from this time last year?

I like the bit when it was put to him that his competition had left the club in Heffernan and Guy, and he responded by saying had he been fit, he would have been in the team !!
