Where is my World Cup song?
« on May 11, 2010, 02:28:16 pm by CusworthRovers »
I was told that dear old Angleterre would not be penning an England song to gee the tommies up as we go into battle.

Sweet Jesus of Nazareth, we were always winners in this field. We got to number 1 in most of our rival countries pop charts for crying out loud.

What happened to the spirit of many a battle won and lost, 1966, Bucks Fizz.

Moore,
Charlton
Lofthouse
Matthews
Finney
Banks
Linekar
Gascoigne
Beardsley
Butcher
Keegan
Shilton
Withe

Back home, they'll be thinking about us, as we are far away
This time, more than any other time, this time
World in Motion
Vindaloo
3 Lions

All sending goose pimples down your body as we thrash them out loudly on the day of the England game.

In answer to my own question. On listening to MTV in the last few days, it sounds like we have got a World Cup song, by Kelis for some reason.

Before youuuuuuu, my whole life is Fabio Capella

I reckon Skinner and Baddiel are struggling to squeeze \"44 years of hurt\" into a song without it sounding dreadful

We might have to wait until the Euros in 2016 - \"50 years of hurt\" should fit a treat, and represent a decent marketing opportunity - 20 years on (a la Geldof and the Band Aid single). Throw in a charity of some sort - nailed on chart topper!

Latest news is Robbie Williams and Russell Brand are recording a new version of Three Lions.

Whilst there's no official world cup song there's plenty of unofficial ones.
