Mike Conway Crash

English man Mike Conway is lucky to be alive after this horrific crash on the last lap of yesterday's Indy 500.Incredibly he walked away and waved to the crowd.

He didn't die but he hardly walked away.  He has a broken leg and a broken bone in his back.  Hardly any surprise crashing like that.

What is annoying the Americans is that despite Conway crashing, British drivers still finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

That's very similar to a go-cart accident I had on Town Fields when I was about seven.

Remarkably I walked away with nothing more than a broken Curly Wurly and dirty underppants.

... just again a justification for the monocoque system. The wheels come off and all other bits can some off but as you see in this case the \"tub\" stays intact and the driver does not die - though there is abviously a bit of luck involved

Reminded me of robert kubica check that one out

Sorry he must have been on a stretcher when the commentator said he waved to the crowd.
My mistake, but as it happened on the last lap and the race finished under a yellow flag, all the focus was on the winner for the next 10 minutes and only a passing remark was made to let people know he was OK. :)
