not at work but they are shutting doncaster mail center in 12 too 18 months time.will find more info when i am back at work,but basically there are about nine mail centers in the north east region and they are planning on condensing it in to 3 mail centers,looks like i will be working in sheffield  :(

Does that mean if you have a parcel that they haven't been able to deliver, you're going to have to go all the way over to Sheffield to fetch it then?

And not before time.
The whole setup for the deivery of mail/parcels in this country is archaic.
I can remember when I was in business and took some rather large packages (not heavy) to the local post office and they didn't have the scales to weigh them. I was told to take them to the local butchers shop and pop them on their scales !.
I could come up with dozens of ways of implementing efficiency changes but inevitably they would get shot down by the 'keep things as they are' brigade. !

It's the main sorting office that is set to close,the delivery part of the job will still function,maybe from a differant building.You will pick your parcels up from there so no you wont have to go to Sheffiled  B)
