When Billy and Blackwell Fell out
« on July 08, 2010, 04:17:15 pm by Filo »
I remember when driving home from the Carling Cup game at Notts County, I had Praise or Grumble on Radio Sheffield. Sheffield United had just been beaten in the 1st round of the Carling Cup, Billy Scored I think, but he also missed a couple of chances, Blackwell was interviewed on the radio and he was fuming, he more or less said that some players out there were n`t fit to wear the shirt, he said if he could ship some of them out he would. Billy never played for Sheffield united again and signed for Rovers on a season long loan with 5 minutes of the transfer window left. the rest is history as they say  :)

Don't forget we came apparently close to signing Chris Killen (un)fortunately he failed the medical and we had to get an out of form striker in quick.

Thank you Chris Killen's knees

Think it was more Kellen's wallet not his knees that proved a stumbling block anyway that history now.  Just refreshing that Billy has chosen football over cash

Killen definitely failed the medical.  JR was gutted.  They gave him 2 medicals in the hope he passed the second one.

The same medical that Steve Brooker passed! That's one dodgy knee then.

Billy has had games with us where he has missed chances but we stuck with him chanting his name getting behind him if we can do that all season with him and the rest of the squad maybe we can be that 12th man that we always talk about thats so important

I reckon Stephen Hawking could pass one of our medicals if he gave it 100%. ;)
