Mick's view on Keogh transfer

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy believes striker Andy Keogh will want to remain in the Premier League - should he leave Molineux - after Doncaster have made clear their desire to sign him.

Keogh made an impressive start to last season but slipped down the pecking order as McCarthy opted to play Kevin Doyle as the lone striker.

The former Republic of Ireland boss has also brought in Steven Fletcher from Burnley during the summer for around £6million.

McCarthy said: \"I think Andy will want to stay in the Premier League. He was our best player at the start of last season.

\"There's also no chance of Andy going out on loan.\"

Sounds quite definate. Equally sounds as if he has no future at Wolves. So unless someone stumps up the reported £2.5mill fee what will Mick do?  Loan him out probably!

According to DROS we had spoke to Mick and made tentative enquiries, so why the very public bleating?

All this amounts to is that once McCarthy has his 25 in mind then he will consider loaning him out. SOD said we would have to wait for that time to arrive and then see if Keogh wants the move. Nothing has changed.

Probably because he could do with another £2.5 million in his pocket towards a new player rather than let one sit around collecting his pay check.

His gamble might come off and someone like Burnley might come in, who knows.

As i see it if Blackpool,Burnley or Leeds dont want him he stays at Wolves,as all the prem teams wouldnt paticulary want him and theres not many in the Championship can afford 2 mill these days.. :S
   I bet they would take 1 million at a push but i wouldnt want us to get involved for that money,if hes not available to loan then lets move on.I still think Garner would be best value for us at the moment..

Given his lack of goals I wouldn't want us to spend money on him.  For a striker he has a very poor goals record that's for sure.  We have enough second strikers in Hayter, Copps and Shiels.

I think a lot of loans will be sorted once the squads of 25 are announced by Premiership teams.

It may be a case of being patient before any arrive.

He's going out on loan without a doubt, when it gets closer to the season, im sure he would like to come and be reunited with billy. but it would make more sence if he goes to burnley, blackpool or leeds.

sod has been given the largest budget on transfers ever and this doesn't include the kings signing,so would guess anything between 400 000 to a million? would we rather spend this money on two or three players or risk putting in another million quid bid for keogh?
if accepted we would have one of the best strike forces in this league and with luck on the injuries front would almost secure a top six finish.and if the bid gets rejected at least we would of turned a few heads and good publicity on our serious intentions for the season.

when the club shop opens i will get both home and away tops for me and our dan and then there is all the training tops,it will cost me more than my season ticket
