After a lot of people were unsure of his defensive abilities i thought he put in a great performance tonight. good tackles always tracking back and got forward whenever posssible. george friend also had a good game and although we won convincingly and were comfortable enough there was still some awkward defending. I do think most the side played well though but John Oster gave the ball away on a number of occasions and i wasnt suprised to see him come off.

Still though, as long as were scoring more than we concede im happy ;) the best start we've had to a season for a while and here's hoping it continues. Bring on Friday!

Personally I think Dumbaya could go onto to big things even SO'D described him as a \"street footballer\"

me too he`s got the speed  agility and technique

just needs three shredded wheat to bulk out a bit
and iron brew for a bit more strength

He was terrific tonight I thought, stepped up to the plate big time. SOD has found the defensive four it seems-thats the best we've played defensively in our 7 games so far, Martis looks so much more assured alongside Jimmy and Friend and Dumbuya were very solid.

Called coaching - Friend I thought tonight showed massive improvements - the SOD factor already working!

Agree with all that.

Copps scored three goals, but Dumbaya took the MoM for me.  How bizarre is that!

My words exactly about 10 minutes before the end. I did wonder if SOD would hold him responsible for the Norwich revival seeing as everything came down his wing but obviously not, he was still there at the end.

agree with the comments so far.
although we did win comfortably it was disappointing how easily we were knocked off the ball.
also disappointed that the wilson baiters still seem evident.
back to the original topic though - our coaching staff must be genius' having seen dumbaya last season I never ever thought he'd make a defender

Even though the back 4 were way better last night i'm still unsure about Friend, there were still occasions last night where his positioning wasn't right. I think Chambo will be given the left back slot when he is fit.

Good position to be in though init Skellow, knowing when Chambers comes back we'll have two top class left backs competing to be 1st team left back.

Not a bad position to be in at all...  :)

IMO Friend had a poor second half, not only was he caught out of position several times, his first touch and passing were well off, something that the Norwich player's seemed to pick up on and targeted him.

Chambers can also play RB if Dumbuya's form fades, allowing Jimmy to stay CB

Flexibility - wow

I have read that the Norwich winger (on the left) is very highly rated and one for the future in the top flight. It makes Muzzy's performance much sweeter. Not MoM for me, but a delightful, confident, assured performance for a full 90mins

Still not the finished article defensively, but all things look promising.

has anybody seen his interview on player? he was absolutely buzzing, and he's itching to be on the teamsheet tomorrow.

i love players like that, who have pride in wearing the shirt and WANT to play.

plus his attitude is epic, he commented how things don't phase him, something along the lines of \"if it was us playing against barcelona, against messi, i wouldnt be bothered, its not that i dont care, its just that a name is just a name to me\"

LEGEND!

I agree, imo he has made some advances but his first touch particularly in the 2nd. half was atrocious at times. A fit Chambo for me every time and work in training with Friend given the opportunity ; there is a good player there but far from the finished 'SO'D' article as yet.
