Nowhere in that piece does John Ryan say Doncaster are bigger than Leeds.  Just better. Which, arguably, we are.  It's a fair point.  And Rovers lost a whole generation fans to teams like Leeds and the Sheffield clubs because we were lower league, even non-league for the majority of the past 40+ years. Again, understandable.

Leeds fans would do well to remember who their chairman is. A fcuking torrid little man.

There is no argument, Rovers ARE better and have been for the past 5 years, and will be for the forseable future. That is a fact

Here are some facts for you.!!

Doncaster 48%   Leeds 52%
Attempts  3     6
Attemps off  5    7
Corners 5    7

And here are more facts.
We outplayed you in your own back yard, especially in the second half. I remember the days when you outplayed us in league one. Hmm different now isn't it!!!!

Now here is a bit of fiction for you.
(Doncaster official site. SHARP'S GOAL BELIEF) Believes he can score in EVERY game.!!

Missed a sitter and still hasn't scored from open play. Davide Somma was far the better player who gave your defenders a torrid time. Max Gradel also had your defender in his pocket.

You look an average team.!!

FACT!!!!

We were that average, you could n`t score against us, yes we were below par, but if that was your best performance of the season, I would be very worried if I were you!

0-0 yes but we will take the 1 point away from home thankyou, you dropped 2 points at home.
Leeds played average but a lot better than our last game Vs Barnsley. You didn't click cos we didn't let you click the same as we didn't let Forest click after they dominated posession after the first 15 minutes. Sign of winners!!
I doubt you will get anything at Elland Road. Apart from the opening day we have been impressive. We humiliated you yesterday so im definately looking forward to your visit.!!

So you were impressive at Barnsley? Blimey.

I thought you looked good at times and probably shaded it. Yes you stopped us playing (not sure if that counts as 'humiliating' us though does it?) You had the better chances and dominated for large parts of the second half, mainly down to our managers irritating habit to leave his substitutes too late again. Stocky should have come on long before he did.

We may not get anything at Elland Road, but I too am looking forward to the visit. Maybe we will stop you playing and class it as humiliating you?

Sign of winners? Hmm, remind me, did not both games end in draws? As for humiliated, try looking up the meaning of words in a dictionary before you use them on a public forum. The word you were looking for, by the way, was matched.

You humiliated Man Utd last season with a 1-0 victory, so to humiliate us with a 0-0 shows how much of a high regard you hold us in...

0-0 in your cup final, enjoy  ;)! ;)

Cup final?haha!! You should have had the red carpets and autograph books out for us cos Leeds United were visiting.

Barnsley did humiliate us I totally agree. Good job it wasn't on the TV though like last nights game when we took the pee out of you in the second half. We also totally outsung you too to quieten them non league drums.

Blakey you are obviously from Donny or you wouldn't give time to little Donny Rovers.
Leeds fans from Leeds hardly know we exist or care.

Hang your head in shame. Not supporting your own town is bad, actually wanting them to lose is just sad.

Grow up little boy, supporting clubs from other cities/towns is for little kids who are sucked in by glory..

Been delivering round Leeds today and spoke to a lad who actually went last night...he said he thought we edged the first half, they edged the second. He was very complimentary towards us and just glad they got a clean sheet last night considering their performance last Tuesday.

Have to say I watched on TV last night due to the fact that I was up before the Milkman this morning. Your facts are flawed dear Blakey...Sky had us pretty much even at 7 attempts each at one point. Blue Sky thinking on your part I feel...

Humiliated...hardly. If I walk you bare arsed round Donny with a sign round your neck saying 'I love DRFC' then that might be closer to the mark.....hmmm not a bad idea really, when you free  ;)

\"Billy missed a sitter\"???

No it was an excellent block by the Leeds defender.

Watched again this morning and it was a fair result IMO.  Somma was bright but HE missed a sitter when shore right a sullivan when 1on1.

Next!

This is a post on Facebook from one of my old Balby Carr school friends. I really don't know what planet these Kitsons are on, but it's the same one as Wednesday fans. I am really starting to hate L**ds with a passion because of all this big headed shite. I hope we trade punches with them for a few years to come. L**ds are our new Scunthorpe.

Just relax, we've drawn nil nil against the champions of europe, and there is nothing to fear at Elland Road in the second leg.

Oh and before I forget Blakey, if you see Mr Ryan as desperate then read on...

I posted this quite a while back on this forum reagrding Mr Bates, your wonderful Chairman. It's quite an interesting read if you care to have a look.

Desperate doesn't seem to be enough to describe the 'man'...in inverted commas

Funny really isn't it, we have some really sweet, sensible fellas who come on here,i.e. Wellygogs, Edwin, and Donny white gaz...

So why is it the moment Leeds has to face little old us the more shall we say troglodyteish amongst their fans has to predictably come tootling over to make a bit of an arse of himself..

And I have to say, if you don't want the lads to pull up their cherished 'let's all sob along at Wembley' pictures, don't blooming remind them they have them...

Why were leeds singing about being Champions of Europe? I would have thought they hated Man Utd, Liverpool, forest and Villa.

Very interesting reading that article GM-MarkB... Bates really is a w**ker of the highest order.  The sooner that piece of shite shuffles off this mortal coil the better.  Leeds should have been kicked out of the league IMO.

It's old news PDX but what's scary is that he's still in charge of a football club at all. He's shouldn't be within a light year of such an establishment.

Morning gents,

watched yesterday's game on the net and have to say the result was fair, both teams played well and were pretty even. Maybe Leeds had a couple of chances more, but not enough to say we dominated you.

Was very impressed with some of the football that Donny played, as I was with some of Leeds' attacking play. Was good to see two teams at least try to play football for most of the match.

Before the season started I had this one down as a comfortable home win, however, after the Barnsley debacle, I thought you might suffer the backlash. Still, perfectly happy to come away with the point.

As much as I'd like Donny to do well, I still reckon come the end of the season, we'll finish above you, but if it'S us first and you second then that would be ideal.

As for John Ryan, I know he says some strange things at times, but the article is fair enough, though in these globalised days, automatically supporting your local team doesn't really count anymore.

Still, at least you have a chairman who can say that he saved your club.
Well in the middle of this....'heated debate' (Argument in other words) we have missed a very complimentary and engaging post from a Leeds fan not aiming for an instant wind up i hope. Btw quick q for all the Leeds fan who are inevitably reading, who do you think Juve where scouting? and before we get any pointless messages, none of that 'None of your lot' posts which frankly waste time

Perhaps that point needs to be elaborated on! The way I see it if your from Doncaster, your a Rovers fan, otherwise your a Leeds fan that comes from Doncaster and I don't see what the \"globalised days\" have done to change this!!!!

@ donnybez

It's not a wind-up, as a few people on here can testify to. I can't imagine that Juventus would be interested in any Leeds player. Maybe at a push Snodgrass, but that's about it.

@ Sawy

Yes, I'm originally from Doncaster, but left the country 27 years ago. My uncle got me onto Leeds when I was a nipper and it stuck, but I do have a genuine soft spot for Donny.

My old man wouldn't let me go to Leeds when I was younger, but he did relent and let me watch Donny with a few mates. This was the latter years under Stan Anderson and the first year or two of Billy Bremner'S reign.

But to the point. What I meant with the 'gloabalised world' is that 30 years ago our access to other clubs was limited. Most people when I was at the age of 10 or so, supported 'localsih' teams. One kid supported Forest, but that was because his family was from there. If it hadn't been for my uncle, I'd probably have ended up supporting Donny as well, as several of my best mates did.  Nowadays kids have a lot easier access to the 'big' clubs. We see them almost every week on TV, the Internet etc, so to say that you should support your local team is IMO no longer realistic.

I have a kid in my year 9 English class and he is a Barcelona fan. Knows everything about them, because he has seen everything about them TV etc.

Steady, you're in danger of joining that group you 'dismissed' in an earlier thread entitled \"I despise Leeds...am I alone?\"

Did you know their delightful following 'gobbed' on the Rover's players when they went up to collect the trophy at Wembley?
