Let's get a bit of perspective here...

All the whinging about a 9000 crowd and lack of atmosphere

[ul]Rotherham United, a club in terms of history and size are comparable to our own got less than 4000 yesterday and play in an athletics stadium.

Scarborough Football Club, who we had a decent rivalry with in the recent past are about to have their abandoned ground pulled down.  http://www.scarborougheveningnews.co.uk/news/local/bulldozers_to_move_into_old_stadium_1_2287319

Chester City are literally in a pub league as are Halifax Town

Our crowds (yesterday excepted due to the TV) are only 1000/2000 away from Barnsley who despite playing in the Championship for years and getting into the Premiership haven't converted that into a fan base that is that much larger than ours.[/ul]

It's just a thought but maybe we should stop being so concerned about how we look to the arrogant idiots of SheffU, Leeds, etc and remember who we are and how well we are doing compared to our traditional rivals?

True

And against a backdrop of a financially challenging time. It was noticeable that Sheff U did not fill their end as they have previously either and with the game on Telly when you can get a better view / replays etc and save £25 plus travel food and beer it is perhaps not suprising

who gives a dam if there attendance are bigger than ours at home.

we could have 3000 home fans inside the KMS as long as we keep playing great football, and most importantly don't do a pompy i would not care

they may well cheer when our attendance is read out but at the final whistle when we have taken three points it will be us cheering at them.

Nice to see common sense prevailing in this thread. We are not a \"big \" team but we are a very GOOD team.

In reality we are nowhere near a NPC club by size. Neither are Scunny and neither are many others, that have tried to stay there (based on their size).

So far we are doing what many/most have been unable to do ie stay there

We should be (on size alone) a comfortable L1 club. The gap between L1 and NPC is massive, crowd/club wise and getting bigger. Once Soton/Sheff Wed are out of it, it will make ours, Scunny and B'Pool (when they come down) jobs harder in trying to stay there.

Thus far, it's pretty amazing what's happening with Donny. Long may it continue, but for how long depends on a few obvious factors.
