fcuking hell, Billy. If that's hhow you feel about the water board I wouldn't like to be your meter reader!
Not hard to guess where I stand on this.Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld are cnuts of the highest order who deserve an eternity having their knackers skewered on Satan's fork.Their actions have ensured that we will have this terrorist issue to deal with for the next 50 years. Even if waterboarding DID work, in authorising that, they have become the most useful recruitment agents that Al Qaeda has ever had. Those tactics NEVER work in the long run. All it does is generate more hatred, more martyrs, more reasons why the next generation will take up arms against you.Look at Northern Ireland - when the Army kicked down several hundred Catholic doors in the middle of the night in August 1971, dragged \"known IRA members\" off to prison, held them without charge and tortured them for information, it must have seemed like a brilliant way to show them who was in charge and break the strength of the Provos. That really fcuking well worked didn't it? There was no more trouble from the Fenians after that was there? No Guildford, Birmingham, Warrenpoint, Eniskillen, Brighton, Canary Wharf, Bishopsgate, Manchester, Warrington, Omagh. That is EXACTLY what Iraq and Guantanamo has done to Al Qaeda. It hasn't weakened them. It might tactically disadvantage them, but in the long run it makes ALL of us more vulnerable and entrenches the \"war\".And that's before you even start on the morality of a cnut like Bush taking it on himself to authorise illegal torture with no judicial oversight. Why stop at \"terrorist suspects\"? Why not do what unleashed, anti-democratic megalomaniacs have done throughout history and extend that sort of treatment to you domestic political opponents. Once people accept the principle that the rules can be put aside when a problem is deemed big enough, you're on a slippery slope.fcuking terrifying.
It's definitely well out of order. You'd never see Jack Bauer resorting to these ungentlemanly practices.
