Atmosphere. There was one today.
« on November 06, 2010, 09:35:58 pm by Snods Shinpad 2 »
Decided to go in the SS today and try and get in an away game frame of mind and sing like a looney.

Following all the posts whining about the atmosphere, I thought I'd vacate the West Stand School of Science and try and make a bit of noise for a change.

Now maybe it was me just enjoying myself, but during the second half it actually seemed like the Keepmoat was actually rocking.

Haven't enjoyed a home game as much as that for a while. I jumped around like a right old prat when those goals went in.

A cracking match. A decent attendance (well done VSC/JR). Loads of kids and families and people who obviously hadn't ever been before having a good time. And most importantly a spirited come back victory to entice everyone to get themselves there for the next game.

A good day all round I reckon.  :scarf:

Boomstick will be along in a minute no doubt, to say it sounded shite.

The first half was the worst ever in the KM and god we have had some bad ones!

Second half ok but why do we \"Only sing when where winning???\"

Very very strange and the East Stand simply awful may as well go to the libary!

i thought the first half was pants, it felt like one of those games (there are 3 or 4 of them a season) where in the first few minutes there just seems to be a \"feeling\" that the crowd arent interested.

then shiels got crippled in the box, we didn't get the penalty, and i thought this was a good thing as it seemed to inspire the crowd to get behind the team with the chant of \"we only get shit refs\".....queue 2 goals in 2 minutes when the crowd woke up...great stuff.

Atmosphere was good for about 15 minutes but let's not get carried away, Millwall's early goal meant that the home support was again deadly silent for the majority of the first half. It got going a bit after being denied a penalty and then again with the two goals.

When it does get going it's a good atmosphere but we need to learn to get behind the players when the going's tough.

Nah mate, I thought it was much improved yesterday, probably the best so far this season (but thats not saying much). I would have walked away with a smile on my face even if we lost, there is still much room for improvement though. Yesterday showed potential as when the s/w corner and south stand sang as one.
Yesterday was the bare minimum i'd expect, I enjoyed it and if that continues and improves upon then some of the mutes might lose some inhibitions and join in.
I now have faith that someday we can have a proper atmos at the KM.

Now a red flare or two would really kick things off

Yeah thats about right, just short of 10 400 anyway.
shows what a bit of promoting can do

I bet we made more money with the ticket offer then we would have done with the normal prices.

im not sure, but the way i see it is, even if the club lost a bit of cash on the day, potentially we've pulled in some new faces who will come back.

on that note, i've just thrown this facebook event together for the swansea game and sent it to all 212 people on my friends list, feel free to pass it around, haha.
