Wikileaks. Good AND bad or good OR bad?
I wouldn't be all that fussed about the US laughing at UK, it just goes to show they're arseholes, as well as our the corruption at the highest levels. I'm actually afraid to comment on some of it. Will they be monitoring all our email? I've known or suspected for quite awhile that all the kinds of information which has been reported and monitored is 'business as usual' for diplomats, etc. so I'm surprised that everyone is surprised. I'm also not surprised that some of the more respected medial of the US -- NY Times, Washington Post, etc had colluded to keep more politically sensative/ explosive information out of their mainstream press, though I really believed it was for public/world safety. Although the NY Times did cover the leaks. So where should the line be drawn? I don't know. I really don't believe we need to know some of the information leaked, yet I like knowing it.. Though I don't for a moment believe that Julian Aussage is guilty of rape -- as I'm sure it's our attempt to discredit him. At the same time it's the same method allegedly being used by the KGB threatening some of the members of the British Embassy there . But I wonder if the leaks about the KGB were leaked purposely on the day before FIFA's decision on the world cup, though of course it didn't change the outcome. Could this have been an attempt to show the world that the Russian mafia would be controlling the games there and profiting from it? All these questions, and many scary possible answers. My God, !I'm truly terrified.
