I've volunteered. Mainly because I wouldn't mind getting more information about it.

I think a loyalty card scheme is definitely a good idea if it is deployed properly. It might be the first step towards the club being able to improve the way it markets itself to supporters, and the way it looks after its existing customers.

I've volunteered to, butbthey are still looking for quite a lot more,  I'd encourage people to sign up, that way we have the best chance of influencing what the final scheme will look like

I've emailed them to let them know I'm in. So that makes 6  :clapping:

E.g.

West Ham United Away
(4th May 2012)

I'd take that, given the 46 game season ends in April. :woohoo:

I correct my mistake, the last game of the season will take place on the 5th/6th May. For the last few seaons the final game of the season has taken place in the first weekend in May, and why it is normally a Sunday in the Championship to benefit from May day the following day...

I have volunteered for the scheme, can't be that bad...

Maybe they're waiting to see what kind of response they get initially before going ahead with the pilot scheme.

possible marketing paper exercise????   ;)

To be honest they've probably read on here some of the negatives/problems they face in defining certains factors relating to each fan-types. Its going to be impossible to please all of us, so they would have to define a loyalty point system which would be fair across the wide spectrum of fans in order for it to provide consistency as well as showing 'loyalty' in each individual cases.

... Don't fancy their job to be honest. But hope I get something back from them 'cos I'm intrigued to see what they come up with and how 'loyality' will be personified.

Gareth and I have had quite a bit of correspondence directly with Shaun Lockwood on this over the last few days and as yet we don't have all the details and I wouldn't want to steal his thunder, but from what wr have gleaned so far this is a major initiative that will seek to address a number of issues that fans have raised particularly last season.

The fact that they want to have a pilot scheme shows the intention to get it right before a full launch and it is clear that they will be listening to feedback from the people who participate in the trial.

So come on you tight fisted Yorkies if you want summat for  nowt and a chance to influence how this scheme operates, pile on board and blow Lockwoods mailbox!

... Good stuff. Now I'm more intrigued than before. I'm sure they've ironed out everything discussed on here and more so hopefully it'll be a good venture. Has anyone heard anything back from them once they've emailed their interest? A confirmation of acknowledgment or something similar?

Gareth

Thanks for helping with the recruitment of volunteers for the pilot scheme, were now at 50% of our target number.

Loyalty Card Pilot

Thank you for those that have sent details to marketing@doncasterroversfc.co.uk volunteering to be part of the pilot loyalty card scheme.  We are currently at 50% of our target number of participants for the trial, so there is still time to volunteer yourself if you haven’t yet done so.

For those that have already sent details through, please be aware the Club will write to you and invite you to a presentation of the scheme during the next few weeks.

Thanks

Shaun

Well, I got a letter through the post about it today, so that obviously means they've got enough people for the pilot scheme, which is good news. So I'm assuming I'm not the only one who has heard back.

They're holding presentations at the beginning of August for people who signed up to get further information, and then a number of focus groups throughout the season to get people's views on what should be added/omitted from the scheme.

I got mine via e-mail.

As I'm on holiday when the briefings are being held, they will e-mail me details when they're available.
