Any proper Electricians out there
« on August 02, 2011, 08:41:01 pm by Dagenham Rover »
That could give me an idea pricewise about changing an old style wylex fuse board ( 2 blades and a bit of fusewire )to a more modern trip switch type ( 2 x 5a 2 x15 2 x 30 ) I know what the real option is but its not an option at the moment :S

Someone a little less law abiding may have a look at screwfix, get what they need, take out the master fuse and do the job themselves.

Funnily enough I popped down there today :)  and bought what I thought was an alternative solution (for a couple of the fuses) that was supposed to be a  conversion for all old style wylex fuseboards but only to find the blades are to close together.

and to be honest although I'm quite capable of wireing a plug  and changing fuse wire etc I don't want to prat about with the mains as it comes into the house

Thats OK if you don`t want to sell your house in the future, If you do then you`ll need an electrical safety certificate, if he`s got an old wylex fuse box with fuse wire then it`s probably safe to say that non of the circuits have RCD protection which part P legislation requires on certain circuits now

We don't have an electrician as a VSC Commercial Partner yet, but that would have been my first suggestion of where you look to keep the money in the Rovers-supporting family.

Any sparkies out there, get in touch if you'd like to become a commercial partner.  Same goes for plasterers, joiners, etc.

How about a credit scheme - do a job for someone in the VSC and when you need something doing you use your credit to get another bod who knows the field to do it for you? I know it's an old fashioned idea, not having money exchanging hands, but it works. And there's feck all the baddies in the world can do about it.

Although \"technically\" illegal, any Regional Electric Company(REC) employee worth his salt wouldnt mind if the main fuse had been \"illegally\" removed(wirelock missing the big clue!). As a sparks I`ve done this on numeous occasions (and as yet!) havent got in the shit!
