It's just been on SSN that he's tendered his resignation and it's been accepted by forest board.

Definately the wrong club for SO'D, they wouldn't give him enough time to shape the way they play. It could ruin his career that one.

Agreed I wouldn't ever want to wish that Scabby crew on our Sean .........Brizzle might suit him soon if he waits/wants it.

Agreed, reading the Forest forum a while ago they seem to think McLaren was overcomplicating things and trying to bring his Dutch learnings to a midfield not used to passing the ball. Whilst a lot on there want SOD I'd fear he wouldn't get the time to implement his style.

lots of restless natives thinking that it wont be long before he gets the chance - although there is a view of appointing 'someone to help alongside Millen' - cue Mclaren's next job!!

Schteve is so bewildered. I think the Forest fans, deluded and simple lot that they are, would be furious if a relative small name manager like Sean was appointed, can't see it happening tbh. I think Brizzle is a better bet.

If the Forest board has any gumption and ambition at all, they won't go for SOD but Martin O'Neill. They'd get a good manager and have the fans back on board in one fell swoop. And I bet O'Neill would fancy managing Forest after having played for them under Cloughy.

O'Neill would be a great catch for them but would he step down a division through sentiment?  (Maybe he would of course.)

As Cloughie said about him: \"Anybody who can do anything in Leicester but make a jumper has got to be a genius.\"

Didn't he dropped down a division to manage Leicester? I'm not sure off the top of my head but that's how I remember it...

Bit of a Martin O'Neill aside: we used to get English footy in Bolivia on Fox Sports Latin America and its ESPN equivalent, both Argie-based channels broadcasting in Spanish but with the regular Sky Sports live match video feeds.  The post-game interviews were in English but had Spanish subtitles, so you could listen to, say, Big Sam in English while following the translation on the subtitles to practice your Spanish.  The one exception was when O'Neill was speaking, when the subtitles flicked over so fast that you had no chance of following it, to the extent that the programme should have carried a flash photography warning.

Pretty sure he brought wycombe up from the non league before moving to Leicester, then celtic. He is very much a man motivator manager, similar to clough, turning average players to good players..

Lee Westwood???

Well I guess as a fan of Forest he wouldn't take too long over selecting the right club for him. I feel though he may be too green and it would be a fair way to go to get him up to the job. This is a team well below par. He'd have to iron out their defensive frailties to get them out of the woods. But, if he put his mind to it he could drive them forward.

With any luck he'll turn out to be a bit of a bogey man and take them down to where they belong.

He had about six months at Norwich in the Prem between Wycombe and Leicester, but I can't remember whether Leicester were also in the Prem when he joined them or whether he dropped down a division to take over there...

He was Leicester's manager when they won the 95/96 first division play-offs final,so It would seem he did drop down then Glyn.He joined them in Dec 95 apparently.

I can't see O'Niell going to them.  With Doughty standing down and saying there will be no more money for players it wouldn't work.  Wasn't MONs argument at Villa because he couldn't have any more money to spend.

Alan Shearer has moved up the betting over the last few hours, now favourite at 6/4 with Karl Robinson still at 2/1. Interesting stuff, very risky IMO if he's appointed. Maybe contacts more than management skills that are required?
