Agent offers one of his clients to a Championship club as manager

Agent then throws some of his ex premier league B list players at the club on short term deals to get them a contract somewhere else

Is there not a potential conflict of interests in this arrangement?

How much influence does Willie Mckay have over Dean Saunders?

IE \"I don't want player X playing on Sat Dean I've got him a move lined up and I don't want him Injured\" could this happen?

Time will tell, I hope it all works out well and Dean Saunders is allowed to be his own man and move the club forwards, but I am concerned.

I couldn't be bothered reading any further than the ridiculous first line. More muckspreading, when will it end?

It's not a ridiculous first line at all. When talking about the decision to the Free Press one of the directors (TB, I think) said something along the lines of \"we were offered Saunders so we decided that now is time for a change\".

Some people just can't let it go.

How is this in any way someone who \"can't let it go\"? He's expressing a very realistic concern, I don't see what's wrong with that or why some people have suddenly decided to just put up a brick wall in front of them towards anything that isn't \"Dean Saunders/John Ryan/The Club is amazing!!!!!!\".

I thought it had been said in the Radio Sheff interview that Saunders was not with McKay?

I don't know what to believe. JR said on the radio tonight that Saunders isn't involved with McKay but that certainly wasn't the suggestion initially.

Personally I don't feel comfortable with McKay's involvement, I don't trust him or his motives. They must think we are stupid if they expect us to believe he is Rovers biggest fan, living out his dream and doing his club a favour out of the goodness of his heart in return for the wage of a modern apprentice.

I can't work out what's going on but I don't think the opening post is particularly damaging, it just asks a question without criticising any key figures at the club. If this forum can't ask questions it may as well shut down.

Saunders seems a strong character, I can't personally see himself landing in a predicament of being told who to pick. The manager should be his own person and I believe DS is, although figures close to the club would have you believe that the manager being his own person is not a good thing if that suits the agenda this week.

I can tell you for a fact that McKay has represented DS (whether he still does i don't know but JR says not) and that DS & McKay are also good friends that go way back.

This is from 2010 when McKay was trying to buy Wrexham and their Chairman Ian Roberts said so at the time......
Although Mr McKay is a friend of manager Dean Saunders yesterday Mr Roberts moved to dispel the rumour . He said: \"Mr McKay is a good personal friend of Dean's and he helped with the transfer of Neil Taylor.\"

To the OP - I don't see there's a difference between a MacKay player and an Allerdice player on that score. A deals a deal, and if they want to change the deal, there'd be some compensation paid money wise or in the form of a new deal with another player etc etc. Its business.

Until there's a sign based in fact that something is wrong, enjoy the ride mate :)

Of course anyone that cares about our club should look at what's happening EVERYONE!
However there doesn't seem to be anything wrong in the the new strategy, it's seems to have a mutual benefits. We get to use these players cheaply to enhance the squad, the players have the opportunity to keep fit and be plucked into other clubs and the agent is possibly getting more life out of his players.

It would be ridiculous , given our past, for folk not to want to scrutinise (as much as possible) but we should trust JR on this one............he hasn't let us down before.

The only caveat I have is that we don't piss off our contracted players or slip these older players (generally) in at the expense of the likes of Mason, Lalkovic, Bennett etc. and lose them but hey I'm not the manager.

Dare to dream but it is RIGHT to care about what is happening to your/our club
