Just watching MOTD, amazed that he's got a fresh start at Sunderland under O'Neil. I really didn't rate him when he was here!

He was a weird one. He was one of those where he clearly has fantastic talent but playing alongside Martis/Wayne Thomas, you're going to look pretty bad having to clear up whatever mess they were making. Plus he got injured while he was here too which didn't help along with us being so poor to begin with. I think if things were different last season or we had him now he'd be a far better player for us than he was.
A lot of people have said what you say about not rating him here last season and i'm on of them but there were a few games, most notably Forest away when we drew 0-0 where he did look like the player we were expecting, it just never really came to anything for whatever reason.
I still rate him overall and hope he does do well at Sunderland as I like Martin O'Neil who's IMO one of the best managers in the country.

Martin O'Neill has always had a knack of getting the best out of these types of players.

When he was at Celtic he took players up there like John Hartson, Chris Sutton, Alan Thompson and Steve Guppy and turned them into European big guns.

He is an incredible man manager and the belief he must give players that don't get there chance often must boost the squads moral ten fold.

He is obviously one of the very few managers who have actually listened to MadMick.
