The Future - Where do we go now?
« on January 25, 2012, 08:25:53 pm by MrFrost »
So, as the title says. Just where do we go now.
A stated £5 million per year shortfall. JR cannot sustain that going forward.
New investment? Doesn't sound likely.

IF by some miracle we do stay up? How do we survive financially? Even in League One, with the huge loss in TV revenue, there would have to be a huge clear out of out playing staff to keep our loses as low as possible.

I really don't see where we go unless we get new investment.

Worrying times.

JR is 61. He s not gonna be here forever. Time to get a business plan going.

Is this what the Mayans predicted ?

I'll tell you where.

The Keepmoat, as often as we can. We're needed as supporters now more than ever.

Follow the lads round the country too if we can afford.

In our last season in league 1 we had an offer from Adam Pearson to buy us for about 4 million pounds i think, i wonder if he would still like to have an involvement if so could he help us out? :rtid:

Is Pearson not invloved with someone else now?

It is a worrying time. We dont own the ground, JR is fed up and we dont appear to have any other people interested in investing (that we know of). Maybe Willie could find someone??

We have got to cut our cloth accordingly. That is going to mean Sharp, Stock, Copps and the rest move on I would think. It is not mission impossible though, look at Barnsley. I think Keith Hill is doing a great job on a shoe string budget (although, I am not sure how they can afford Tonge!).

It would be great to see some players come from the youth set!

He's still at Hull, don't know if he's on the board or not, head of communications or some cockle. I think he owns one of the rubgy league teams in Hull as well. Isn't he a leeds fan anyway? I'm sure we gave the hull fans stick in Div 3 for it.

i dont think it is as bad as it sounds we are, thanks to JR, just not used to worring about the club surviving since richardson anyway. but if pompey are still in existance and in a better place in the campionship then i think it cant be too bad. look at cardiff and crystal palace both were nearly wiped out now there playing in semi finals and finals of the leauge cup. we have not even been wound up or had the administrators in at all.

Pearson took on Derby instead, then returned to Hull. Yes new investment is probably something the club needs to look into, but perhaps if we can steer the ship to the end of this season (no matter what the outcome as far as league position) then JR can take a good long look at all the possible options. The director's leaving is not the end of the world, and we've survived tougher times before. Perhaps a fresh start as regards the playing staff etc. will be needed at the end of this season anyway. I'd love to see more injection of youth on the pitch.

this might of been coverd in the radio sheffield interview but i haven had chance to listen.

what happens to the shares they hold surley they would put them up for sale so JR or new investors buy them, will they be able to decide how much these shares are worth so terry bramall might not sell his share holding on the cheap and demend huge sums for it just wondering is all?

A shareholder can still be a shareholder, even if they are not a director. A director and shareholder are two seperate, and often unrelated, things. As far as we know, the four ex-directors are still shareholders.

If the four ex-directors decide to sell their shares, then it is up to a buyer to agree a price with the seller. If there is no agreement, then the current shareholders remain shareholders.

This annual loss seems to be getting bigger each month. Its no so long ago I was reading on here that it was £2million. That seems more likely than £5m!
