VSC in the Free Pess!!!
« on February 02, 2012, 08:31:48 pm by Mr1Croft »
Just seen the VSC 'advert' in the Free Press, and while I'm chuffed to bits its there, is there only my copy where the advert looked like it was designed for half the space it occupied? My copy was really blurry and slightly distorted.

I'm not saying anyone is at fault (be the DFP or the VSC) just pointing it out...

Looks fine in my copy of the DFP

Edit: its nowhere near as sharp as what they were sent but that's the limitation of the printing process.

10 pints tends to make things a bit blurry

Has the VSC paid full price for this? As readership is pretty low for the paper these days, would something like that most wanted magazine thing be a better medium? Could even ask to sponsor the rover report they do or something?

Great idea, Dave

To be fair, this was designed to raise the profile of the VSC as a \"companion piece\" to JRs \"once more into the breach, dear friends\" rallying call in this week's DFP.

As I said I was happy to see it there, but as a 19 year old its rare I have to borrow my mothers reading glasses to clearly read something in the Free Press. :silly:

It would be unfair to go into the detail but we got a very very substantial discount. We very much hope it will be self funding by attracting some new members, hint hint!

We'll look into alternatives, I know Pay pal is not everybody's favourite mechanism.

For anyone who does Internet banking they can do a transfer to the VSC's bank account, that way we don't pay any pay pal fees. All you need is our sort code and account number that I'm happy to provide.

The best way is to set up a standing order, again there are no fees involved and it means you don't have to remember to renew as the bank will do that for you(until you tell them otherwise.

I too have a question.

I paid via PayPal last month and it has set up to pay £12 every January. Does this mean I am only a member between January-August or will I be a member for the year and if for some reason I decide to cancel tha PayPal for next year my membership becomes void?

Annual subscriptions ate due on the 1st of August each year, any member who fails to pay their membership ceases to be a member and the ir share is  in effect returned to the Co-operative.

We have been somewhat lenient on this rule in the past , but we need to tighten is up to be compliant with FSA regulations.

mr Croft (and others)  you can always reset your subscriptions to the first of August, and for those that haven't yet done so, setting up a Paypal subscription works like a standing order in that the membership fee will be taken automatically on the date specified,.

It does help us to keep membership numbers up and rising, and removes the need for us to have to chase members for their subscriptions.

As ever, everyone's help with this is greatly appreciated.

That's fine, I will amend it in the near future. I was just checking to see if it was worth the hassle.

Thanks
