"The become a Club Scout scheme is only available to Season Ticket Holders who have renewed or purchased a season ticket for the 2012/13 season during the early bird window (on or before the 6th April)"

why?

I think the club must be thinking not many more people will be renewing so I guess they want to stir things up by offering this up.

A few of my friends who hadn't renewed for one reason or another, might just renew now I can get them £50 off.

I suppose the other alternative would have been to hold the pre 6th April prices.

I think you are misreading it, RedJ.  Its because you have to already be a new season STH in order to introduce someone who isnt.

As last season, if anyone wants to take advantage of this offer and they put me down as their "scouter" (I was going to put "groomer" there - better not), I will give them the full scoout money back.  Thats £50 off season tickets give.

PM me if you would like to do it, and I'll send you my details.

That's exactly it Rob.

Its designed for existing ST holders, those recently renewed, to help out their friends, mates etc who have missed out on the cut off dates. There will not be any extension of dates this time around so this is as good as it gets.

My ticket is also available if anybody wants to take advantage. Just pm me.

what I'm saying is I don't get why they've restricted it to the people renewing in the early bird window

Its because you need to be introduced by a STH.  The scheme is designed to benefit the introducer, the existing STH, for bringing pals to get STs.  Out of the goodness of my heart, I will give the cash to the renewer/new STH.

The club needs a show of support in these dark days.  Surely £50 off your season ticket is tempting to anyone who was wavering on renewing.

Yes I know that, but I don't get why you're not able to take advantage if you sign a mate up after the now closed early bird window. Or have I misinterpreted horribly?

I think you have got it right - only people who renewed in the early bird period can recommend people to the club...... I don't have an issue with that, it is potentially rewarding those who renewed early despite not knowing what division we would be playing in.

Still, I think its a poor scheme that potentially will cost the club money as this thread is suggesting, you'll get people who would have renewed anyway getting their season ticket for £50 less.... either way, I am happy for my name to be given & giving the money back to the renewer if it means getting more bums on seats!

With a lot of people offering that I wonder if in some ways Rovers have been calculated about this and seen it as a way of extending the early bird deadline in a roundabout way?

I suspect you are right, DN.  A Cat B renewing at £339 prior to 5th April rose to £399 after that date.  By giving the £50 back, they would only be paying £10 more than the early renewers, so thats still a great deal, working out a shade over £15 per match.

If £399 (or £459 in Cat A seats) is putting you off, take advantage of this offer.  On a £399 ST it is effectively a 12.5% reduction.

It does rely on those offering to act as a scout to give up the whole £50 though...

I'm not complaining or criticising (and if it is criticism then it's unintended) but why is this only open to the early bird-ers rather than every current STH like last time?

If it's the same as last season then the offer is only open to new season ticket recommendations  , so those who are going to renew won't be eligible for recommendation  and will have to pay the going rate .

Its not the same as last season - its open to new season tickets holders and people who haven't renewed and only those who renewed in the early bird period can be 'scouts'.

.........As 4 of us in this one thread have offered to do.

Yes - but not everyone is as kind hearted as us & would put their personal gain before trying to help others & potentially the club!!
