Who would you prefer to manage next season?

Dean Saunders or Mark Wilson?  :ermm: I know he has absolutely no experience, but I think he could do a decent job as manager.

What qualities do you think Mark Wilson has that would be suited to managing a football club? I'm genuinely interested.

Does Mark Wilson own a pair of casual slacks?

I wouldn't want to manage either Dean Saunders or Mark Wilson? What a strange question.

Well it usually is the low profile players that make good managers, Ferguson, Jose, SOD are to name a few.

Mark Wilson spent enough time on the bench, he has the passion and he learnt coaching methods under SOD, as did Gareth Taylor. That was the only reason Wilson hung around here for so long, he wanted to continue under SOD's wing so if SOD ever left we could keep playing the same style football, sadly that isn't how it worked out.

Wilson just seems like one of those people who would be suited to football management, that said I don't think now is the time for him to manage us, although League One may not be as difficult to manage in as League One.

The last time one of our players took up temporary management and then took on the role permanently I seem to remember it worked out alright.

Maybe not now, but in the future I would like to see Willo at the helm.

That's a bit woolly mate. I'm not convinced at all.

I tried last season, never worked  :(

But on a more serious note, I don't think we should drop Saunders for Wilson, that would be crazy, but I do honestly think that if Wilson goes into management when he finally retires (He is gonna play as long as Savage at this rate) I wouldn't be totally opposed to the idea then.

I understand Willo can spell for a start, come on fella at least try!
I take it that you have never met Willo, watched him study games and are unaware that , as far as I know, he has his coaching badges.
Would you agree that SO'D was probably the best man around to learn the trade from ? One day I sincerely hope he will come back to manage us .

If hes got potential then why not ??

everybody has to start from the bottom and work their way up

Just look at Paul Lambert for example

If Mark Wilson has got coaching badges or achieves them in the future then i think he would be a good choice. He has a wealth of experience - he has played at Manchester United, in America and learnt under O'Driscoll. He has lots of playing time and is currently picking up experience of lower league football.

I don't know him personally but if he has the right attributes, good at man-management, a good motivator, creative, intelligent and can command respect he would have to be taken seriously.

Sometimes top class players become unsuccessful or crap managers and sometimes not so top class players can have excellent management careers.

Maybe by the time Dean's contract is up if we are still struggling and need to manage on a small budget he would be worth a shot!  :chair:

The lunatics took over several months ago sadly.

I do like Willo though, he isn't the man I'd be going for as our next manager. We need an experienced managerial head.

Why do people keep talking about Mark Wilson as manager ffs?

Is it the same people who used to link SOD to Wolves "because he is a wolves fan"

I can see why people would consider Wilson to have the personal qualities to eventually make a good manager, however it's not particularly easy to put together a strong case as to why we should appoint someone with no experience.

That said, there are more than enough reasons to suggest the current incumbent is not the man for the job either!

If anyone comes in, I'd like to give Lee Clark a shot.  I'm still puzzled why Huddersfield fired him.

Groans from a lot of "fans" when he came on,ironic cheers/applause when he was taken off, he'd be on a hiding to nothing if he came back as manager. At least as a player he was a bit further away from the abuse than he would be stuck on the touchline. He picked up the baton from Lewis Guy as the target of the boo boys, (which now seems to have been passed on to John Oyster) so if he has any thoughts of going into management i wouldn't start here if i were him

STRANGE IDEA ALERT:

Lets support the manager who is in charge of our club.....

P.S
Mark Wilson would be ideal to replace Saunders, Saunders is clearly out of his depth in the championship, whereas a player who has no managerial/coaching experience is better suited....WTF (Sarcastic by the way).
