Looks alright in a suit and has won nowt, meets the job spec perfectly.

Apparently, Harry the dog didn't want the job? I bet that's news to him? Shades of cloughie.

I bet Stevie G is over t'moon with the news.

Doesn't matter whose in charge. With our over rated, over paid prima donners, we'll not progress past the group stages anyway. :suicide:

At least it wouldn't be someone with absolutely no experience of International management for change...

And as for 'Arry, he's admitted in court he lies to journalists, press conferences would be worth FA...

FA confirm Woy is the only manager they have spoken to.
Does this mean they haven't spoken to 'Arry yet? or that they don't intend to?
C'mon FA be up front with the paying public

As I don't really expect much of the current crop of players in summer I have to say I'm pleased for Woy. Seems a nice guy and they don't seem to come along in football as often as they should. I just hope the Redknapp-loving media aren't after him from minute one. Probably wouldn't have been my choice but what the hell, as Rovers fans I'm sure we're all willing to get behind a managerial appointment we didn't see coming ;)

Well...

Quote
Woy is the only manager they have spoken to.

Seems you've answred yourself on that one! The other bit I agree with you on though. You'd imagine that Roy is their choice then, if he and the F.A. come to an agreement he will be appointed I'd guess.

Also, is there no manual quote button within the 'write reply' section here now?

I think the question ravenrover was trying to ask is whether it means they simply haven't spoken to harry YET or that they aren't going to speak to him at all.

West Broms season is done and dusted and they are safe.
Spurs one isn't quite over yet,
it may just be they are waiting for the respective clubs season to be totally finalised

Or maybe, just maybe, the FA think Hodgson is a better manager than Redknapp? Afriad I'd have to agree as he's done much better at smaller clubs than Redknapp (in England anyway) without the limitless budgets. Also hasn't succeeeded in bankrupting all his former clubs and his supposed failure at Liverpool...well Dalglish has hardly done much better has he? He's got the big club experience at Inter Milan and managed 2 International teams, surely for once the FA are making the right choice...an English manager with a proven track record on the International stage?

I for one would much rather have Hodgson over Redknapp, for a start he's not a crook (and yes I know he was proven innocent, but he's still dodgy).

Lets think about this rationally for a second. Maybe they are just making Hodgson the scapegoat.

England aren't gonna win the Euro's, that much is clear. So whoever is going to take them there is gonna be blamed. Offer Hodgson short term deal, lose Euro's Hodgson gets sacked.

Redknapp takes charged and (just like capello) have an easy 2 years in freindlies and WC qualification before we face anyone decent when it means something and screw it up, Arry will have probably resigned by then (or have forces Jamie out of retirement)...

and then if by some form of black magic f**kery we do get anywhere at the Euros it'll look like a masterstroke (no doubt accompanied by a few masterstrokes by the heads of the FA at night)

He's set to be appointed on a contract which will end after the 2016 European Championship. Good move!

Not a prayer they'd ever do that.

Get over it folks, Pug Face isn't getting the job and I'm delighted about it. Come on Woy's Boys!

I think Woy must be mad to take the job. A widiculous decision for a man so wationale in his mannewisms.

I'd give him just 3 maybe even 1 loss before Murdochs empire came down on him like a ton of bricks. I'd hate to see a decent fella like him subjected to the name calling and the caricaturing of his face, and that's just the national media.

The job is a poison chalice in the current state of our game and no manager can make these boys play together with a hunger and desire to succeed and develop.

I'd guess Geezer Redknapp wants £5million a game and a thousand conditions attached to his appointment.

We need a massive overhaul of how we do things for the National Team. The only loyalty and consistency are the fans

The Victimpool job was to big for him so the England position would be a distarous job for him.

Harry Redknapp wont get the job for the simple fact that he's known mates and aquaintances with some controversial and 'dodgy' characters... The papers would have a field day with him.

Not that i care but Stuart Pearce for England!!  :)
