FA Cup ties live on TV
« on October 23, 2012, 10:38:21 am by The Red Baron »
Not DRFC, naturally- which does at least mean we'll likely be 3pm on Saturday.

FRIDAY 2 NOVEMBER 2012
Cambridge City v Milton Keynes Dons (7.30) – Live on ESPN

SUNDAY 4 NOVEMBER 2012
Braintree Town v Tranmere Rovers (12.30) – Live on ITV
Dorchester Town v Plymouth Argyle (4.30) – Live on ESPN

I thought the Old Bill v Crawley might have been shown.

If we got to the final we wouldn't be shown live.

If we were drawn away we might have been. I thought it would be the police.

I know this early in the cup there aren't exactly brilliantly glamorous ties but why would anybody want to watch any of these games?

I think they go for ties that have the best chance of an upset, so small clubs at home to (relatively) big clubs are the order of the day here. Feels weird hoping to get through to the 3rd round and draw one of the big boys again, I've gotten used to being one of the big boys in the 3rd round every year.

I love watching the pantomime of bigger teams struggling to play in non-league quagmires with the packed away fans praying they're not embarressed, the "mike Bassett" home team manager, an overexcited  bumper family home turnout from the local village with their new scarves, and people sat in trees watching for free  :woohoo:

Also love hearing the commentators trying to ignore the bad language you can clearly hear over the TV at these matches.

Must admit I love them too, a day in the sun and a small club and town/village buzzing with excitement.  :)
