Curle jinxes the game

Keith Curle has, in my opinion, ensured tomorrow's game will end 0-0 now.

Manager expecting another exciting 90 minutes this weekend...

Keith Curle has not ruled out another goal fest at Meadow Lane on Saturday when the Magpies face Doncaster Rovers.

Fans witnessed a six-goal thriller in midweek, with Notts claiming a point from an exciting 3-3 draw with AFC Bournemouth.

Both outfits are in good form heading into this weekend’s fixture and just one point separates them in the npower League 1 Play-Off places.

"I think it’s going to be an entertaining game," said Curle in his pre-match press conference.

"You've got two managers who like to play attacking football.

"The frustration I've got is that three of their four strike force, I tried to bring here.

"Cotterill, Hume and Paynter were the three targets I identified that would've enhanced our play.

"If you look at those three now and put them against Judge, Arquin, Campbell-Ryce and Zoko, it's going to be an entertaining game.

"I don't know how many 0-0 draws I've had since I've been at the football club and I don't think this one's going to be 0-0."

:P

That's from Notts County's website - intriguing that he wanted to bring Cotterill, Paynter and Hume in at the County, but we beat them to all three signatures.

Wonder how we managed to 'beat' them too....  If we're broke and they're swimming in the stuff, what did it for us then?

Don't think we're broke bob are we??
Once the big earners left we were in a good position to sign these type of players, we were only in the mess before players like o Connor, friend, stock, coppinger etc departed

They're not "swimming in the stuff," unless I've missed something.

Good point Dickos. Fair enough. Do you think we can safely assume then that if we want someone badly enough, we can out bid other clubs? That's what was puzzling me.

And PT - maybe I remembered incorrectly. I thought I read somewhere that they've got some sort of benefactor these days? Maybe I'm wrong. I do know for sure that they were pretty much on their uppers after that ill fated adventure with Sven and whoever it was that owned them at the time.

Cheers

Possibly bob, I think cotterill was more to do with the fact him and Saunders knew each other. But I think we're definitely one of the most attractive clubs for players in this division.
The players we've signed so far this year have all been a revelation, I was dubious about Quinn for a few weeks but now I think he's coming along great, just need Blake to show what he can do now.
