Billy Paynter had put that easy chance away in the first few minutes maybe we might have been sat at the top of the table and the posts on here since the end of the game might have been very different?
I am beginning to understand why the Leeds lot nicknamed him Barn Door.

I heard his middle name is Banjo, however I don't think that would have altered the result. There were far too many players not playing to their usual standard and Bobbins has really got that Cov. team running like a smooth machine.

BP is not the player that used to come here and really look dangerous.

I may be wrong, but compared to the old BP, he looks more weightier and more injured'ier, and less fit'ier.

I likes him I do and will love him if he returns to the old BP, however he's not really putting a shift in for us, especially next to Humey and Browny. I think we need far more out of him than we are getting (especially leading the line and making meaningful runs down the channels)

I don't rate him to be honest. I'm not knocking him but to me he was just a lower league journeyman who had one good season when Leeds signed him. Brown is better I hope we didnt spend to much of the budget getting him here.

I can't understand why Paynter is preferred to Brown from the start. To me, he always seems to be chasing the game.

Brownie is carrying an injury. And he's played 4 matches in 2 weeks. Well, that's Dean's reason anyway. That ans he doesn't want Billy to go a hole month without playing a single match.

It's on the OS if you care to look.

If Browny is carrying an injury it doesn't look it, always puts a shift in with Humey.
If anyone was carrying an injury it would be Paynter - seems pretty lazy to me

Well, you better tell Dean then. Cos he reckons he is carrying one.

Is our front two of Brown and Paynter the heaviest in professional football? Two very big lads.

They've got nothing on Preston's Mellor, Brown and Parkin though.

Our front men have to feed off scraps to be fair to them though. We lack creativity and support for them. They have a tough job.

Must agree 100% with this. Brown is a championship player and what he lacks in goals sometimes he makes up with his effort and link up play. I haven't seen anything from Paynter yet.

I think Paynter's done alright for us. He holds the ball up pretty well, and I think with a bit more luck/service he could've had a few more goals.

a pub team player of my acquaintance always said that his first touch is a tackle

paynter to a tee

the ball was never attached to his foot at all on saturday

Brown was a championship player who was never prolific in front of goal. Paynter was prolific in league one, but is not the same player. Both are here because they fit into our budget. So you replace them with youngsters or find the cash to do so. But going back to the original post both Paynter and Hume fired wide of the goal in the first ten minutes and were not on target. If we had scored we could have sat back like we do away and block the chances for Coventry.

Billy Paynter had put that easy chance away in the first few minutes

It wasn't as easy as it looked - it was an awkward ball on his left foot.

Really? And I thought he was a striker too.
