IF Saunders is going to Wolves, please please don't appoint this man back. I appreciate everything he ever did for the Rovers but we do not have the type of squad which will benefit from his philosophies. Simple as that.

Not even worth discussing and I don't know why people are. Both parties have moved on. There is utterly no chance he would even contemplate returning here, and as you say things have changed and in a football sense it would make no sense for us either.

Agree. No way could I or any other supporter now put up with the spineless performances, lost leads, featherweight defence and gutless last minute defeats. Brilliant manager in many respects but having seen what a backbone looks like in a team, I do not want this removing again by Dr O'Driscoll.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's back in the frame, Jonathan, he seems to be applying for just about every job these days

Agree to an extent.

I probably would've put it more subtly/less harshly, but I am enjoying the current culture - a team of solid, dependable winners. Some of the stuff that happened under SOD was a joy to watch, but it didn't half grind me down towards the end when it was failing to bring results.

He wouldn't come back.  But those who wouldn't want him back are fools - end of discussion.

You make it sound like a vice, katesby

The man is not working, of course he'll apply for jobs that are suitable.

No way will he come back to Rovers (not that I'd want him to either, second comings are very rarely successful, unless of course you are on Viagra. Can't see either O'Driscoll's pride or The KM2 allowing it.

OK, so SOD comes back we go up? then what exactly the same as what happened last time, low championship going no where, then relegation.

Least saunders looks asif he has the chance to take us further, i love SOD for what he did but its never as good the second time.

Don't get me wrong either, the football under Saunders has on many occasions been absolute dirge. Today was fairly typical to be honest and was barely watchable. Any team which starts both Keegan and Harper voluntarily for instance is barely football. However, Saunders has brought organisation, determination, steel and grit which SOD seemingly thought entirely incompatible with his teams.

Think that's a bit of an exaggeration. He's a lifelong Wolves fan so would naturally be interested in that. Barnsley is available and he ruled himself out of Plymouth early. It simply wouldn't happen again here, end of story. Not sure this thread needs anyone making jibes at the job he did here as it was superb, but things have changed, we've changed culture and the new approach is also working remarkably well. Until tonight's supposed developments I think we could all look back and forward in a positive light (save for last season of course).

Whilst I was very disappointed when he went, on reflection I wouldn't want him back. Once his head was turned properly for the first time by Burnley (if my memory serves), he was never the same with us again. His quick drop of Crawley for the 'big time' re-enforced my view.

The team is simply not right for him either. He'd have to dismantle and start again (again), and we all know how long that took to work when he first arrived.

I think it's a moot point though. I don't think either club or man would want each other again now.

Would be absolutely hilarious to see him working with a midfield of Keegan and Harper though. Worth appointing him on that basis and no letting him buy another midfielder. Could be fly on wall documentary. Brilliant TV viewing.

Can we pay Wolves to take SO'D?
