I was a little perplexed though at Brian Flynn's interview.  One thing struck me, which was his surprise at how good Copps is in the air.  Anyone who has seen Copps play knows how he has a leap like a salmon and often outjumps 6'+ defenders

Yeah but to be fair, Flynn won't have seen that much of Copps this season, who has?

Yes, I picked up on that however it's probably just that he hasn't seen much of Copps playing given Flynn was probably on scouting missions when Copps was here in the early season and of course when Copps was in temporary exile.

I've always thought Copps could make more of his prowess in the air, nipping in at near post corners/free kicks etc. whilst all the big men catch the attention.
