I bet they properly marketed the £5 entrance fee, unlike rovers who have never heard of proper marketing. I bet the gave thousands away to schools too.
Not sure what you mean, but my two points are unrelated. I'm aware of rovers giving away tickets to schools.
I was there last night, having got my ticket for free from a City-supporting friend. Crewe did the same smash-and-grab job that they did on us at the Keepmoat in the League game. Coventry dominated the game, had loads of shots and were denied by Phillips (not the 'keeper who played at the Keepmoat) who produced some unbelievable saves, as well as some poor finishing. The 'keepers were the difference. Murphy of Coventry went off injured at the interval and his replacement, Dunn, made Gary Woods look like Peter Shilton. He had no chance with the first goal, but he should have saved the other two.Even at a goal down I'd have fancied Coventry- with their away record- to turn it around but I can't see a way back from 0-3 somehow. My friend and I were discussing whether they'd have been better off with 10,000 fans paying £15-20 each or 30,000 paying a fiver. The latter would have been worthwhile as a marketing exercise if Coventry had won, of course. But I doubt they'll see 15,000 of those again unless they get to a similar stage in a Cup competiton or draw a plum tie against Man U/ Chelsea/ Arse etc.
