If we're in the Play-Offs will he be signing a short term contract till the end of that?

He signed a contact which expires the day after the last game of the season, he knew exactly where he stood. Quite a few of the players contracts also expire and they will be wanting to know how they stand. They are fully aware that contract talks will begin after we know what division we will be in next season. How can you do it any differently?

Not only that but the players want to get away on holiday!!

Agreed SM, and Flynny's got 2 weeks booked all inclusive in Lilliput

I think we would get a lot of bad PR if we did go up on Saturday and then decided to change manager

So what?  Many have done it.  The key for me is that the board make a decision based on all the evidence they have.  If they like Flynn's plan they stick with him.  I'm massively concerned about him tactically and still think he'd be a better DOF with a young coach doing tactics etc underneath him.

Agreed. I would be very concerned going into next season (whichever league we're in) with Flynn as manager, but I do believe he can be an asset to us in a different role. The board have to weigh up what they've seen, just as us lot on here have, and come to a decision.

BobG made some very good points as well. It's not really JR's question to answer, especially when it's sprung on him in a live radio interview. The answer he gave was the truthful one, which is that we'll sort everything out once Saturday is out of the way. If he didn't sound convincing in answering it, then it doesn't alter the truth that they're going to wait until after Saturday until they step back and look at the situation.

Would love to see him as director of football, even though it has a bad rep in England look what Ashworth has done at WBA, Congerton at Hamburger sv and Nick Hammond at Reading! Think it would suit Flynn perfectly, controlling scouting, transfers and youth development but it would be hard to find a manager who would work within such constraints but steve clarke hasn't done bad, and we could go for a younger manager with inexperience and it would be less of a gamble knowing Flynn has brought in the players and it's just upto them to get them coach and motivate them. I'd fancy Paul Ashworth for the job.

I'd let him advise on signings but let the manager have the final say on it.

It's ironic that Flynn and many of the players probably have a better chance of staying in their job if we remain in League 1.

If we go up, I reckon Warnock will likely be in the frame.

Warnock wouldn't leave his family in Cornwall for us, his home town club however.........................
