The Lost Decade
« on March 19, 2013, 12:28:26 am by BillyStubbsTears »
Now, back in 2010 when this lot took power, there was a debate on here about whether Austerity was going to tip us into a Japan-style Lost Decade.

Have a look what three eminent economists have said today - all three of them, long term members of the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee that sets interest rates. Not raving lefties. Not Commies. Solid, sensible, authoritative Capitalist economic specialists. Sushil Wadhwani, Adam Posen and David Blanchflower. All of them world renown figures in the field.

Quote
The debate over whether or not Britain is on the verge of a Japanese-style 'lost decade' of prolonged economic stagnation, says Blanchflower, is over: “We’re in one already.”

Wadhwani agrees: “The numbers are in… we are halfway through a lost decade.”

As with Japan in the 1990s, Posen argues, Osborne’s embrace of austerity is “taking a normal recession and making it longer and worse than it has to be”.

And here's what they are so scared about. Here's what our economy has done since Dave, Nick and Gideon took over. The bunch of useless, intellectually vapid Kitsons.

Its alright trying to shut the stable door once the Horse has bolted, but the Cretins who preceeded the current Cretins in government borrowed vast amounts of money to Prop up third sector socialist quango's such as the one set up by the stupid cow in Sheffield.(or maybe not so stupid as she paid herself £8 million)
Prime examples being the Government Offices, have they been missed? yes by all of the useless t**ts who worked in them earning 50k plus salaries doing bugger all!.
here's another example of your borrowed money not being very well spent. the year before they went out of office Labour chucked 500k at Bradford city council who spent it wisely by boltstering the numbers of their Neighbourhood Community saftey managers up to 17 at 60k each then they gave em all a Personal assistant at £18k.

Yes I see what you mean Sproty, chucking £500k for that lot

17 managers at £60k each =£1020k
17 pa's at £18k each = £306k

Total cost - £1326k - £500k from government = a shortfall of £826k from my fag packet calculations. Any government who does their sums so badly is certainly asking for trouble.
