The country as a whole may not be, but there are individual companies or personnel who most certainly are in recession.

Recession is a term for a countries economy, not for individuals.
The recession has nothing to do with our season ticket sales. More likely, the simple reason, the Doncaster public are not interested.

So, if my company decided to reduce my salary by 20% this year, I would not be in recession then. Nice to know that. Thank you.

No need, recession is something in throes of being reduced. My wages reduced, in recession

Blaming something on a perceived recession is lazy.

No. That's a pay cut.

But, if my pay is cut, it is reduced, it has receeded, its therefore in recession.

If we want to be taken seriously in the championship is 4.5k really enough? We may be in a huge recession but to me it does not seem like the town have any confidence we can stay up or that they are potentially bothered about he club

I hope I'm wrong and its a case of building slowly to build confidence and gain the stronger fan base we all hope for

I was wondering how long it would be until someone blamed the recession on season ticket sales.
We are not in a recession. Fact.

What is with the aggressive response? It is comments phrased like that which make this a very unpleasant forum to read or offer an opinion on anything

What are you basing that "fact!" on? some clever number crunching by some government agency? That means nothing in the real world when there are people in this country not knowing if they will have a job from one day to the next in some cases due to no one having money to spend or being more careful with it.

In your eyes maybe, but it isn't the correct term, especially in the context it has been used in this thread. If that was the case, even in years of substantial growth, people could use the term recession as the reason for not buying a season ticket.

Like I said - the main reason for poor season ticket sales is lack of interest.
People may say cost - but find ourselves in the Premier League next year, and people will find the money from somewhere.

Both actually. Two quarters of negative growth is a recession, and we haven't had that for a few quarters now.

The town has been hit hard by recent financial events, no doubt, but we're not in recession.

It wasn't aggressive. But we are not in a recession.

Has it ever been any different? I'm sure 7 or 8 years ago, there will still people who didn't know whether they would have a job from one day to the next. That's life.

Not half has hard as towns like Rotherham. There's still a hell of a lot of work in Donny, if people dare to lower themselves to work in a warehouse or call centre.

But that's going off topic.

As I said. Interest is the main reason.

Correct term or not is irrelevant, as far as I am concerned a 20% pay cut would mean my finances were in recession, nothing to do with economic factors of UK.
Bit like going bald, full head of hair one day, next 20% loss, we term that receeding hair line, that's recession isn't it?.

We may not be technically in a recession but the UK economy is hardly in great health.

The fact that many peoples income has barely been rising, while the cost of living, particularly in essentials such as food and fuel has increased significantly over the last few years, is bound to mean some people will have different priorities to buying season tickets.

It is a simple fact that many people do not have as much disposable income these days.

Recession or not, I think people are having to be more choosy about what they spend financially or in time and I can understand that a football season ticket may be one of those items that slips down the list of priorities.

However, should we be assuming the cause? No. It's important the club gather as much information as possible in order to understand what can be done to help folk as much as reasonably possible.

For many people now, I think there's better ways of spending your spare cash. Football is poor value for money.

Anyway - to get back to the original question, have you bought a season ticket yet? Yes, thanks
