I think it's more likely the players are delaying as long as possible to maximise their wage next season, whilst using us as the fallback option. I hope we are looking at alternatives so that we don't get caught short!

On the other hand, if they're already fit (or on the way to fit) they'd be more attractive to prospective clubs.
