Open day tonight
« on July 24, 2013, 10:19:16 am by gavuez1723 »
Can anyone tell me what time the open day starts tonight & can I just turn up or do I need to book in via the ticket office...I did try to find this info on DROS but like my missis says I never move anything when looking for things if its not in front of my face

just back and we did the tour which i must say was very very good. deebee your new venture is also very good and we have a little lad who is chuffed to bits with his pic of jonsie with the trophy . Unfortuantly unable to stay longer as the young uns are tired but we enjoyed the couple of hours down their. The pitch looks fantastic andy well done to you and your staff . The only slight note of concern i have off the pitch is that i went to get the boy a hot dog and didnt see the kids boxes on the price list are they still doing them next season as i thought we were . Other than that the kiosks look great and its starting to feel a bit more homely just need a few of tiddys murials and all our of pitch bits and pieces will be on the ball.

Thank you all at rovers

Have you got access to the 1979 aerial shot of Belle Vue that appeared on the inside back cover of the programme for the last game at BV v Forest?

As you may know in the interests of consumer research, it's my duty to report back to you on the new fare on offer at the KM.(ahem)

I concur with some of what's been said already.

1. Beer - choice of Becks and Bud £2.90 or £3.20 respectively. Bang on.
2. Burger. Offered with salad, onions & ketchup. Quality = average. Price £3.70. No way Jose for me.
3. Sausage sandwich (hot dog to you and me) offered with choice of onions, ketchup/mustard. Quality = better than the burger, a decent size. Price £3.70 = May be if I'm really hungry and desperate.
4. Tray of chips. Less than 1 chip for each player on the team. Price £2.50! You're avin a larf! Need to have words and get some more chips on the plate for that price or reduce price to something sensible.
5. Pies, Pulled pork sandwiches? Indigestion means they'll have to wait for another day.

They are doing some meal deals, so you may not pay the equivalent of the above and overall the quality is better but they are typically exploiting the football captive audience.

At the end of the day, It's all about consumer choice and the range available is better, so dig in folks!!

I had the £7.50 meal deal which was chips, pork sarnie and a drink Nd have to say the chips were spot on sarnie not bad with plenty of filling and overall good value for money.had a decent pint of bods later on at £2.90 as well

Did not really look at the prices on their own but the meal deal is good value

The bars have not been given any names as yet is this still to come?

I also asked if the beer and pie for £5 would be back next season but other than in belle vue bar and thats only possibly the answer was no

Glad you thought it was ok Godlike..

I (along with Absolut although we weren't planning on doing this - it just kinda happened in casual conversation) had a little glance at the prices and the rebranding that's taken place we (and it's obviously only the opinion of two fellow fans chewing the fat) answered these questions for ourselves - Are the prices high? Yep to a certain extent they're maybe a little higher than we've paid before. Are they better quality? Without a doubt. Are the portions big enough? Maybe they could go a touch larger but not too much more (chips aside perhaps.) Are they generally decent prices for sporting venues? We thought so. Can the public see the prices while queueing and really look at what's on offer price-wise? Probably not, and maybe some repositioning of price lists (and largening of Type Font in some cases) wouldn't go amiss!

In the end the choice is yours - choose to buy the new stuff or don't, no-one's gonna think any worse of anyone cos they'd sooner bring a ham sandwich, choccy bar and bag of crisps from home as opposed to  buying pie and chips or vice versa!

Each to their own! One thing's for sure, we are beginning to see the makings of individuality! BANGIN!

As an aside - did anyone get a look at the new refurbed box? Amazing - what an idea that is, sell the boxes to season long sponsors with the decor the company want (charge em more if need be) and give each one individuality as opposed to a uniform clinical finish! It looked fabulous! I shoulda taken a pic and attached it!

I thought the same re chip prices. Lovely chips, some of the nicest I've eaten but you'd expect more than what you get for the price.

I did see the box and also heard the lass say that the crown are hiring it out which I think is also a belting idea. I didn't ask the prices like an ideot but giving the normal footy fan the chance to sit in a box instead of the sarnie army brigade wins my vote

I think the major plus point also will be the fact people don't mind a slight price hike if the quality is better and it's going back in to the club.
