Lost 0-3 at Rotherham this afternoon. Billy Paynter missed a penalty in the first half when the score was 0-0.

Starting line up was: Maxted, Griffin, McCullough, Wakefield, Finnegan, Middleton, De Val, Harper, Paynter, Peterson & Thomas.

Is Andy Griffin really not good enough for the first team or is this another guy? Same for Harper.

It's Andy Griffin all right. I can't help wondering whether he might be drafted in given our full-back problems.

No sign of Forrester again. I'm really beginning to wonder if we've signed another Steve Brooker.

Griffin would be good to bring in as a voice and with his experience. Harper must be on par with some of the current team if not better. Be nice to see Forrester eventually as he seems highly rated.

Harper has got to be a joke?!

Good to see De Val get some game time. I'm not sure on what basis a few on here seem to think he's the second coming, but I do think he will add to what's looking quite a limited area for us.

Lets keep playing people who only go sideways or back then. Not saying Harper is the be all and end all, just that he deserves a chance on the basis of what has happened last two games. Amazing how he gets mugged off on here. A vastly experienced player.

Harper was crap from November onwards last year. He was also very much a sideways and forwards passer. There's no way he "deserves" a chance, Wellens will be back and de val is approaching fitness. I'd sooner see a kid pit in there than harper back in the first team.

With six of the players under 20 and Griffin and Harper making up the numbers. Then in that squad only De Val and Paynter could push for the first team squad.
We all wait to see when Forresters fit, hoping he could add a goal threat to the first team.

Hopefully Wellens will be back soon. You place a lot of faith in De Val, who on paper could be a good player and I hope he is but has yet to be blooded that much in this league. Whichever combination he puts out I will support as that's what it's about. After that result at Rotherham I doubt many of those lads will start the next first team game.

Even the RUFC official site are Blaming Harper now......

Despite the Millers having the better of the few chances created it was Rovers who missed a golden opportunity to break the deadlock on 39 minutes. Veteran defender Andy Griffin was upended in the penalty area by Connor Johnson after a surging run, and the referee had no hesitation but to point to the spot. Experienced midfielder James Harper stepped up but crashed his penalty against the crossbar much to the Millers relief.

Nice to see both involved in the incident despite the outcome. Griffin can defend as well.
