A1 or M1 North (from London)
« on December 23, 2013, 10:47:18 am by philsky »

Me and my lad Andy have planned to be at the match vs Ipswich and was going to drop into the OK Diner for breakfast - however it's closed on Boxing Day - anybody know a decent alternative ?

We can use A1 or M1.

A1 every time for me Phil though I can't help on a brilliant cafe on route. There used to be a few independent greasies on the A1 but they've all but disappeared with the relentless advance of the big yellow M.

Got to be the A1.

As for foodage, my grandad used to drive to London quite a bit and always used to stop at the Ram Jam Inn, apparently it was good forty years since. I've never stopped there myself, I always carry on to Donny, I'll have to give it a go one of these days.

Edit: very mixed reviews on trip advisor, to say the least.

A couple of the more recent reviews sound better, so you never know.

Stopped at the Sibson Inn overnight – its quite smart accom but I reckon you'll be looking a bit more low brow for a footy breaky.

Thats the Stibbington Diner at Nene Valley and you're right RR you can get to it from the northbound side over the flyover (usually open 24 hrs) but coming from the south Kate's Cabin on the north bound side is open again

Ah, it's been a long while since I drove down there. Shame, it was a very old coaching inn, Dick Turpin reputedly used it.
