Why pay for Rovers player?
« on February 09, 2014, 08:46:20 pm by newyankee »

It is now 2.40 pm on Sunday afternoon over here, 8.40 pm in Donny.  On DROS there is a piece which states that Paul Dickov spoke to Rovers player after the game. If you scroll down there is a "FREE" you tube of part of the interview.

Don't get me wrong, I think it a good idea to give others a short peek.  However, we who pay 40 quid a year for player to see these interviews are being given short shrift by the club.

By all means put the You Tube snippet on DROS and the full one on Player at the same time, why are we waiting all this time to see the full interview?

 Others views would be appreciated.

Well as you've said, the interviews on player itself are much longer.

Plus, they usually put the full 90 minutes of the game on Player, and you can't get the live commentary for free.

So the short answer is, by paying for Player, you get more stuff.

I can understand where you are coming from but the main thing you pay for is the live match commentary and they're not giving that away for free. The full post match interviews are available almost instantly free after the game if you search on twitter, BBC sport etc so doesn't really matter if they give us a snipit.

As I have said, I am not against the free you tube, my gripe is that you keep going on player and nothing is posted. It should be there at the same time. I have just got in at 8 pm our time or 4 am your time and still they have not posted the full interview.

I think Darren, who took over from Maz, has now left the club as well.
Maybe the department is understaffed, especially as they are now having to do media work for the Dons.

I love watching free view of all away games on Player .. ( home games too of course for us Exiles). When I have a remark be it a criticism or a suggestion I use the CONTACT facility on DROS and always get a response from the club. From that I learned they are seeking to employ another full time employee in the media department to work on the site but in the meantime are getting help from a part timer from the local Business studies college. They are always eager to get suggestions as to how to ipmroe the product Rovers Player.  They can't  spend much time reading this forum cos they are busy so your remarks are best addressed to them not to this forum.

Just checked again, almost 2 pm Monday and the only posting on Player is the highlights of the game. No interview still.  As for FREE games on player, they are party of your payment for player Graingrover, you are not getting something for nothing.

Don't Player just use the Radio Sheffield interviews with Dickov?

These are all here: https://audioboo.fm/channel/football-heaven

Yes I know I am paying for it .. it's part of my nature .. I also rarely moan but prefer to make suggestions to the people in charge rather than bemoan to public at large on here. Forgive me for my old fashioned positivism. I also suggest you avail yourself of the same FREE service they provide via youtube or the facebook site when you will be able to get the interview at the same time... even in your backwater they have that I think.

Maybe, but we on the other side of the pond cannot access Radio Sheffield commentaries or interviews and are therefore reliant on player.  BBC only allows access to such things in the UK, as they put " Not available in your area" on every one.

Once again Graingrover, someone makes a comment and the brown nosers have to have a go. I have every right to bring this to the public at large as you call them, I have already e mailed Steve Uttley about this last week and had no response.

By the way, I do not use Facebook or twitter, I rely on Player for such things. I thought that that was the way to follow the club but obviously I am wrong!!!!

You can't access this then?

I think Shaun Lockwood is in charge of media now so probably best to email him.
Uttley is likely to be too busy to answer but may have forwarded your request higher up the chain.

Too busy to answer? If that is an excuse given by anyone at the club I wouldn't be impressed.

What I meant was it's not really his responsibility as Lockwood is now in charge.
And he will be busy enough anyway having lost staff who haven't been replaced, as well as taking more work on with the Dons etc.
