I see The Birmingham & Bolton home games as the ones that will make or break the season.
Whatever happens leading up to them if we win them both we'll be nigh on safe.
Bad results leading up to them and defeats/draws in those two and we will be right back in the poo.

I see the Milwall away game as the make or break.
As it currently stands, if we beat them we'd open up an 8 point gap over them, lose and it's down to 2 and it would also give them a massive boost.
Of course, if we win a couple before then and they lose, it may not matter

Hopefully we will be safe before visiting Millwall.

Ideally IMHO 4 points from the next 3 games will be massive for us.

Virtually no chance of taking something from Burnley.

I think we can get a point this weekend and a point in Leeds.

I think the Huddersfield and Watford games made our season. We'll look back at the end and see those as pivotal. We'll get a win on sat which will almost guarantee safety.

50/50 Chance Saturday. Burnley there always seems to be a controversial decision there so nil point. Leeds seem to up their game for us so, nil point. Could easily be 1pt from next 3.

7 points from the next 3 i reckon. Beat Sheff Weds & Burnley. Draw with Leeds.

Safe!

Anybody remember winning 3-1 at Derby in early March about 3 years ago, Billy got injured we went into free fall and finished just above relegation zone.
That result made us safe although nobody knew until we drew with Leicester on last but one game.
Another 2 wins could be enough, but more likely need some draws as well.

I will repeat my statement (not based on stats, projections or anything like that) that we will need 48 to be safe. Anything else is a bonus.

So from 10 games we need 3 wins and a couple of draws. As five of those games are at home you can see the importance of keeping that unbeaten run going.

Interestingly Chris Brown says we're still targeting 50 points (good!) but that he thinks 3 wins will probably do the trick.

Hell yes, I was there that night.  Queuing to get out of the car park and driving home, the local radio phone in was all about how crap Derby were and that they were going down.

If memory serves, Sheff Utd went down that season...

Being a natural pessimist, I still can't help thinking, that Charlton abandonment will bite us on the arse.

Well I will offset your natural pessimism and give you my view. I believe 45 points will see us safe and like Chris Brown think we will finish on a cool 50 points too.
This team is playing too well to be worried about relegation now and the usual 3 points in the basket from the Wendies on Satdi will see us on our merry way to another year in the Championship.

It's interesting because if Barnsley and Yeovil were to win, and so were we, we'd go above the Brummies and be on level points with Bolton. So the question is, are we confident in our own ability to beat the Owls?

It'd be a huge boost to win on Saturday, it'll bring 40 points up, Brum, Blackpool will be in reach if not behind us, and those below will just see Rovers as uncatchable.

Hoola, yes, the last week we have played too well to contemplate getting relegated. The problem is, we won't continue to pick up 7 points from 3 games and play as well. I think we've been in the 7 points from 3 games position before, and then played crap and picked up 2 points from the next 5 or similar.
If we go on a bad run between now and the end of the season, it could be really right. Charlton winning the other night will give them a hell of a boost. They're 5 points behind us with 3 games in hand and a better goal difference. I don't see Yeovil or the Dingles catching us up now, so maybe it could be one from 3, Milwall, Charlton and us. If we beat Birmingham that will drag them right into it. These next 3 games could well be season defining, and we couldn't have 3 tougher games I don't think.

Tell you what though, mrfrostsdad - apart from say Bournemouth away as a bad example, we are competing in most games.  That competitiveness gives us a great chance of stating up under our own steam rather than relying on ithers, which is a damned sight better than a couple of seasons ago.
