Scraping the barrel
« on July 10, 2014, 05:21:36 am by raggytash »
After witnessing otsemober coming off after 30 odd minutes because he's knackered I'm sure the quality of player were after is alarminglydropping, bailey looks like another crab too, and the first half we were terrible and there's no pace at all in the midfield if were to anything this year dickov needs to act quick and get serious because players like these and I already predict a long hard winter

I think I read somewhere he had a bad 18 months with glandular fever, something you never totally get rid of.

I wouldn't expect any real football to be played, they have only been back a week and weve lost a few players too...Like PD says, just about getting some miles in the legs at this stage...I wouldn't even bother coming to a opinion on anybody after a gentle kickabout...

Just because players are trialling doesn't mean they are going to sign I wouldn't judge Bailey based on 45mins in the first game of pre season. But I do think its different with Ostembor and think every fan was disappointed when they heard he was trialling but I can't see him signing.

We all know what's been happening off the pitch, because of all that we're just going to have to wait.  I don't believe that the teams that played last night were anywhere near what we'll see in the season proper.

You could be right we may sign better players but we may also lose a few if they cannot renegotiate better deals or get better offers. I for one would not like to see Richie leave let's hope we can sort it out and bring in better players. I think we should but not sure we will.

We have this every year though don't we?

Do fans really expect a great performance at any pre-season friendly, let alone the first????

Oh dear, here we go again – the forum’s agent provocateur spouting b*llocks under his raggytash nom de plume, and responding to his own crap as OurAlfsLad and derbyrover.

Jon Otsemobor was considered a class act whilst a young player at Liverpool, but he lost his way somewhat. Nevertheless Otsemobor became an effective attacking right back for several clubs, notably for Norwich City. If he can get fit, sort out his problems, and perform to his ability, this could prove to be a shrewd signing by Dickov.

Otsemobor almost became a Rover nine years ago. Dave Penney gave him a trial in the summer of 2005, and it was a surprise that Otsemobor subsequently signed for Rotherham. I saw him at Gresty Road and at the Keepmoat in early 2006 in that epic two-leg semi-final with Crewe Alex, and noted his class and ability on those occasions – way above League One level.

Ostemobor will not be a shrewd signing he is not good enough and we will need to look at better. He may have had potential when he was young but he is now 31 he has not lived up to that potential it's not as if its a young lad who still has time to improve.

We very much agree to differ! Full backs tend to be like fine wines, and improve with maturity.

Alonso you clearly wasn't there yesterday, he looked like he'd just come out the clubhouse after an afternoon booze up... Sorry for not saying he was great and he will single handedly take us up.... Try getting to a game eh?

I wasn't there either but I wouldn't even make a judgement on a pre-season friendly.  I agree you can comment on what you see, if you were there, but I would really think that the first pre-season game isn't the best indicator.

Otsembor may yet prove to be crap, but give him and the management team a chance eh?

Elliot Kebbie is the son of former Rugby League player Brimah Kebbie who played for Widnes, St. Helens, Bradford and Huddersfield.

The fact he is so out of shape that he can't play 30m in a friendly tells you something about his character.

Thought you may have learnt by now,
Keegan not good enough for league 1, worst player you've ever seen, were nailed on to get releagted to league 2, all nonsense that's came out your hole 2 years ago
Even bet me £100 we wouldn't finish in the top half of league 1, cheque in post is it?

Raggy rash  are you for real

Raggy rash is a real thing and not pleasant as it is quite irritating to the lady who is suffering with it.
