He certainly is. Any manager who could avoid the sack after one run of 2 points from 12 matches and another one of 7 points from 18 matches must have been a miracle worker.

opinions about football are gladly all so very different.

Shaun O Driscoll didn't help himself at Bristol City firstly when the local reporter asked him about where Bristol City were in the table he said he didn't know and didn't care.

The second when he flapped him arms around and said don't ask stupid questions
Have a look at 6 minutes in to the interview

YEah, we've all seen that.

I'll tell you 2 things about Sean.

1) He genuinely doesnt pore over league tables until towards the end of the season.  He said very similar things at Donny.  Performance levels are all he can control.  Results and league position he can not.

2) He doesnt really like the media.  Stupid questions get the short shrift they deserve.

For starters, he obviously wasn't given enough time for people to know he's Sean and not Shaun.   ;-)

When SO'D was appointed by Bristol, I remember reading in the local papers that he'd initially said no and that they had to convince him that they were in it for the long haul this time. They'd been appointing and firing managers left right and centre, all coming in, spending money and not meeting the inflated expectations of the fan base. This time, they said, we need someone who wants a project and can build a club on sustainable footing and he will get time. It was right up Sean's street but he only took the job because those promises were given. What we (DRFC fans) all knew is that the SO'D way is absolutely dreadful for the first 12 months and you truly wonder what is happening, but get through it and you'll have some great potential.

And as I sat there in my office in Bristol, I used to smile at the City fans pulling their hair out wanting instant results. I knew that if they stuck to their word and gave SO'D time, it would come good and that they were a big enough club to really make it work. I also knew that there was no way on God's clean Earth that they would stick to their word and, sure enough, the clamour for his departure grew after just a few months.

Now, Sean is not stupid and he would know that the Chairman was also going to be influenced by the fans. Equally, the press play to the readership so they're asking questions with a heavy undertone of "you're gonna be sacked". And to a man of SO'D's intellect, these come over as stupid questions, and Sean does NOT suffer fools gladly. You're right, the interview is not good on first viewing, but imagine the sheer exasperation of being promised time and patience and after just a few months, those promises have clearly been written on bog roll.

That high expectation without patience, spending significantly but without a long term plan has, I'm afraid, been the Bristol City way for years.

The key issue of this thread appears to have been overlooked.

Bristol City only appear to be expecting a home attendance of 1 today. Still, least he's offered to meet us all.
