Well they never made a peep, all their noise came from right next to us, with NO trouble.
Backing my argument up about having a singing section in north west corner

You're also still totally ignoring the FACT that the police have insist on policing every home match if an official singing section is introduced to the North-West corner, and that the club have already dismissed this idea on those grounds.

I agree that the singing section would be more advantageous in the north west corner, near the away fans. This will produce a good atmosphere like it does at Huddersfield.

I don't know where the singing section is at Huddersfield but their ground is different to the keepmoat.

It has 4 individual stands, there is a large open space between them and no clear access between stands.

The NW corner at the KM is the most complete corner in the ground. Every other corner has a large access gateway at least partially dividing the stands. The NW has continuous seating, all that divides supporters is a small railing and tarpaulin sections laid over seats.

It's just another example of the current regime penny pinching and being unpractically tight

That's part of my argument that the away end should be in the south stand.

BB

I do agree with that. Sadly it's another one of those things that wasn't considered when the KM was constructed. The home fans want the south stand because of the position of the sun but the construction of the North stand is more suitable for them.

The south stand should have had the complete corners, the north stand away end should have had the access gates at either side, dividing the away end from the home fans completely by a natural physical barrier.

True RD but the area between the access tunnels would be too small to cater for some visiting teams, such as Our Sheffield friends, and L**ds. Because of this it would be inevitable that the away fans section would have to take up some of the home area for such games.

They could have found a way around that in the same way they do now. Put the over flow away fans next to the quiet prawn sandwich section and those big games require a greater police presence anyway.

What might be an idea is having both ends for the home fans, and the east stand for the away fans, especially when the away fans are low in number.

Boomstick. I think your interpretation of 'atmosphere' may be different to others. There can be good and bad atmospheres.

You might say you want banter with opposition fans, others may say you want confontation with them. How that manifests itself in that corner is, in other peoples view, not going to create any sort of positive atmospehere in the rest of the ground that others would want to participate in.

After the Barnsley debacle last season when 'banter' turned in to something less savoury, those bridges with the club for maintaining it that area, were burned.

Boisterous behaviour Yes. Unruly behaviour. No
Cheeky banter Yes; Offensive language, No
Competition with away fans: Yes; Confrontation; No

Those are the lines the club will draw. We've all been there in our teens and climbed the 'social ladder' to nearer the centre of the 'gang' as we got older. You can have a lot of fun with your mates without it being at the expense of others in the ground.

It would be a shame not to pursue something in the South Stand, as you are more likely to achieve what you want there, than achieving nothing at all otherwise.
