Ah but the FP didn't say (s)he was upset - they very clearly say s(he) was
uspet
.
Terrible experience for the guy, and I hope he gets some compensation as well as a full apology - but journalism of this quality is truly hopeless.
Decades ago I remember a broadsheet placing a recruitment advert for a new 'poof-reader', and the general consensus was that it was a deliberate misprint. Not these days I'm afraid.
P.S. About that time a famous letter to the editor was sent in. The correspondent was complaining that his child's fee paying school was funding a rebuilding project by charging 3 year's fees up front. The irate parent was bemoaning how it was so unfair "to pay so much through the nose when it would clearly be much more reasonable to pay 'per anum'".
